Marty Robbins is a great country story teller. If you haven’t reacted to him yet, “Devil Woman” and the El Paso trio “El Paso”, Feleena”, and “El Paso City” are great.

This is one of his earliest hits. 2002.Sad you didn't get the video. It's cute. Old chain gang stuff. Plus, Blake has long hair back then too. He as a ton of great hits. For a fun one 'Boy's round here' or he has cool duets with his wife Gwen Stefani from the band 'No Doubt'. 'Nobody but you' or 'Anywhere with you' are awesome. He has a beautiful one called 'God's Country' that is more recent. For funny videos & songs, nobody does it better than Toby Keith. 'As good as I once was', 'How do you like me now?', I wanna talk about me', 'Trailerhood' & so many more. Plus Toby's 'Courtesy of the red, white * blue' official video & song is the most patriotic song I can think of. It makes you wanna run out & enlist. (And I am a great grandmother)

A suggestion for your reaction. Another Blake Shelton song called Hillbilly Bone but you need to watch the cover of this song by Home Free (an acapella country vocal band). And after that one do their cover of Delta Dawn. A country classic but soooo much better that the version that made Tanya Tucker a star. Her version is great but IMO theirs is better. Enjoyed hearing your reaction to Ol Red. Wish you success with your channel.

Just a quick note on instrumentation in County music. You keep referencing the "slide guitar", but that's not actually a thing. A slide can be used on various types of guitars, including plain old acoustic guitars. That said, the ones that must be played with a slide are the Dobro and the Steal Guitar (Lap Steal if not mounted on a stand. Both are very different than traditional guitars and feature the "bending" of individual notes or chords commonly referred to as "crying", which is what makes it a required instrument in any Country music band. Nothing expresses emotional more than "the crying of a steal guitar". Now I only seen a couple of your videos, but if you haven't come across one yet, Country music songs also commonly feature the Fiddle. There is no physical difference between a fiddle and a violin as they truly are the exact same instrument; they're just played very differently than the classical style. Most people who think they don't like Country music assume it's all about heartbreak, drinking, and cheating. That's only part of it. Country music offers various styles and types of artists to suit just about everybody; from Classic Country to Outlaw Country, Pop Country, Bro Country, Southern Rock, Rockabilly, Southern Swing, Mountain Music, Bluegrass, and even a little Gospel and Blues. Many rock and pop artists have ventured over into the Country music arena too; including Steven Tylor, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Aaron Lewis, John Bon Jovi, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Nelly, and many more. Heck, my older brother who says he despises Country actually got into listening to Rockabilly for a while and didn't even know that Johnny Cash was an Outlaw Country legend. My recommendation, is to find a local Honky-Tonk (take a trip to Texas if you don't have one in your town) and visit for a night with your significant other. They tend to have free dance lessons on certain nights where you can learn the Two-Step, Triple-Two, Country Swing, and even a few common line dances (like the Boot Scootin' Boogie, Fake-ID, Watermelon Crawl, and more). In fact, you can usually get in for free for the dance lessons and be able to stay for the evening without having to pay the normal cover charge. And if you're single, they will pair you up, so you just might meet someone too. Either way, it's a ton of fun! That's usually how I convince "Country haters" to reconsider the genre. Once they experience the Honky-Tonk vibe, there's no going back.
