This was the song Dany wrote when their teacher, Pablo González, challenged them to create their own music for the first time. Each of them contributed a song (Pau wrote two): Dany wrote "Eternal Love," Ale wrote "Take Me Down," and Pau wrote "Escape The Mind" and "Fade Away." These four songs, along with the first track they all wrote together, "Free Falling," became their debut EP, Escape The Mind, released in 2015.

They were still finding their sound. Funny thing is if some big name artists in County or Pop were to release any of TW early songs they would be hits.

These songs on their debut EP were literally a homework assignment from Ales bass teacher who encouraged them each to write their own song. (Pau wrote 2… cuz she Pau) & ‘Free Falling’ is the first song they ever wrote all together. No intent to ever record them. But of course because they are DPA they were awesome. The title track ‘Escape the Mind’ is amazing (it’s Pau… on piano… with strings {on the studio track}… so of course it is😊)

Recording the EP was actually their next homework. Pablo, the teacher wanted them to learn how its done. Releasing it was an afterthought.

I won’t delve into what genre this is, because to tell you the truth most musicians hate the idea of labeling their music so I’ll leave that there…but from a purely musical standpoint and as a musician myself considering their age and how difficult this is to do, is there anything these girls can’t do?? Amazing talent is what I hear!! A challenge at that stage of their musical education, is really something that only the most talented and most gifted musicians would get from their private lessons teachers. These are girls are truly way out on another level than most.

I don’t get why people think this is country. I think of it as singer/songwriter. This song is a forgotten gem. Dany was once asked what song they would no longer sing; her first reaction was Eternal Love. She then said that was unacceptable and sang a snippet.

All the songs on this EP are incredible - especially considering how young they were when they recorded it. The title track Escape the Mind is especially amazing - very much the softer side of Pau!

ETM EP is endearing, and amazes for what they was able to accomplish at such a young age. Pau calls it their chipmunk voice era. Just for fun at a concert or radio special, I would love to hear them "Warnify" all these Escape the mind songs, with their wall of sound from today. Dany's sizzling tone itself would be insane, but their mature vocals too? 🤯

If you noticed, Dany counted them in to start the song so they didn't have In-Earz/click track at that time. They sounded a bit off from the EP studio track. They did this at the Liceo concert which would have been a better video to watch. This was a VERY early concert for them.

I love this song, it is on my Writing playlist, a list of songs I like to listen to while I am writing, the CD version is a lot clearer. Escape the Mind was not an album they were going to actually release, it was just an experiment to see which direction they should go in. But I am so glad they did release it as all the songs are great. Yes their voices are very young but that just makes it so much more endearing, and there are the harmonies.

As a fan of country punk and alt-country (but not so much country itself), I kind of bristled at the title of this reaction. But your comments make complete sense, and I agree. (I was never a fan of grunge or Green Day-era punk so I never really made the connection between Eternal Love and those genres.) I appreciate having my perspective changed.

This is very much from their apprenticeship days! A children's song performed by children. Pretty good for what it is, but they've left the songs from the Escape the Mind EP well behind them. Don't expect DPA ever to revive any of them. And, Country Punk? Interesting you should say that. Makes me think of Lone Justice back in the 1980s, Maria McKee's original band. They were described as Cow Punk. Definitely worth checking them out.

This presentation by the band was the first warning they sent to the world. Can you imagine that a band of little girls could sing songs like this? When they should have been playing with their Barbies, they were composing music for grown people. In his first stage of musical learning in the world of bands, searching for his identity as a group, searching for his musical genre. This album is the most charming on record, with songs that really sound very good. Standouts are Free Falling and of course Escape The Mind. Real hits from some pretty little girls. The story of The Warning never ceases to amaze me.

*"Eternal Love"* is one of five songs off The Warning's first EP called *Escape the Mind* from 2015. Other songs on the EP are ....... Fade Away Free Falling Escape the Mind Take Me Down To me, *"Eternal Love"* has that Americana vibe. A mixture elements of Country, Rockabilly (your punk) and Alternative rock sound. *"Eternal Love"* is similar to The Warning's song *"23"* off of their *Error* album. Not quite a ballad but definitely not a tune The Warning is known to play.

It ain't a Country song if there isn't a John Deere tractor, a Ford F150 with a lift kit and big mud tires, or someone's dog died. LOL All we have is a cheating lover. That's just not enough to qualify for the genre. Considering all of Dany's musical influences, which extends in entirely different directions than Pau or A, it's natural that one of the first songs she wrote was an amalgam of several genres.

In regards to the song itself, I can see how the clash of styles sounds odd. I also agree that the individual pieces are good and that it may take some time to get used to the song itself. But I feel that the reason it sounds odd is due to their age at this moment. They sound a bit off as they haven't matured enough musically to stay on beat and sound tight. Dany's voice is clearly infant at this point, as she's breathing through her nose and is off pitch a bit. Having said that, as many have mentioned: this song would be a hit TODAY for some artists, specially artists trying to do a cross-over. Imagine more mature performers covering this song today? I can honestly see this being a hit now with some production tweaks, which is amazing considering their age. Ale's baseline grooves and riffs are killers specially for her age. But even then, regardless of their age, it can work and be a hit today.

What I see in this video is three young girls, who haven't yet got their footing playing live and trying to reproduce their studio work of an extremely well written song. For anyone that hasn't heard the studio version of this song, I highly recommend it. It's actually a country gem that would be a hit today or anytime in the last 30 years with the proper promotion. The acoustic guitar is pristine, with rich layered vocal harmonies preformed by a band that is as tight as any group of session players today. The EP "Escape the Mind" is just as enjoyable to me as any of their albums and shows their individual and collective song writing abilities already at such a young age. Glad you brought it up Zack. Now for Ale's gem. "Take me Down". (the first song i ever heard from them) Listen to her creative, precision bass work with hardly a year of playing under her belt and rich full harmonies. Kudos to Pablo and Jake for helping to shape their sound. The unsung heroes for helping them launch their career.

i have all 60 of DPA/TW's songs on loop on my Spotify... that's this EP, all four albums, and both singles... i'd like to put some of their covers on there, too, but what i have is only from their channel on Spotify... i give it like 4 hours per loop allowing for commercials Spotify tosses in... i'm not here all the time while it is playing but there's like 6 full loops per day and i generally hear 3-5 of them... speaking of which, *Fade Away* is playing as i write this and there's *Eternal Love* right behind it 😉😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Pablo Gonzalez Sarre was asked by his childhood friend, Luis Villarreal to take a look at his daughters besides teaching Ale bass.
