I mean....as cocky as Ben is being, he isn’t wrong. He has brought back that old bluegrass/country that comes from the heart. Albeit, he didn’t do it on his own, ofc there are other artists who helped but him and the Lost Dog Street Band are a huge factor in the resurgence of this kinda music.

yeah I dunno who started it but it's clear that Wynn Varble escalates the situation by first telling Benjamin that he's going to "mash his nose," and when Ben dares him to do it, Wynn replies that Ben would "like to get some of that Brad Paisely money" instead... it should be noted that the highlight of Wynn Varble's career is co-writing 3 songs which reached the American Country Music charts #1 position; a single by Darryl Worley, a single by Easton Corbin, and a single by Brad Paisley... it should also be noted that Wynn shared these writing credits with at least 4 or 5 other co-writers... so when you start to break down the likely payouts he received, divided among the contributors, it sounds like Mr. Varble himself would ALSO love to get some of that Brad Paisely money because he's got nickles and dimes to compare it to... his outburst is little more than a self-fulfilling revelation of his own shortcomings and inability to become well known or famous on his own merits... something that Benjamin Todd is actually fulfilling every single day by raking up MILLIONS of youtube views for his own original material; none of which has ever been bought and recorded by sellout corporate country radio shill... point to Benjamin Todd. Wynn Varble is in way over his head. but hey, that's most Boomers to be honest.

I first learned about Lost Dog when they opened for Devil Makes Three. Within the first verse of the first song I could tell Benjamin Tod was the real deal. His voice is so powerful and soulful. I spend lots of days listening to him at work. I also enjoy the fun goofy lyrics of Brad Paisley. Benjamin has more songs I can relate to then Paisley but I still like to smile and laugh at songs too. I had an abusive family and we haven’t spoken in 18 years and for 10 years before that. I lived out of a car for 8 months and had other hard times but I wouldn’t call out this other country guy like Benjamin because I don’t know his story. If Benjamin met me he might judge me the same way by my clothes. I wear designer jeans and shirts from any of the microbreweries I’ve been too. Just because I had those dark points doesn’t mean I or anyone else needs to stay there. I have a great job and finally enjoy life a lot more after getting out of the shadows so to speak. Having said that, I still can relate and feel something deeper from a Lost Dog song than a Paisley song.

To all the people claiming they "lost respect" for Ben , or had other negative shit to say, this video was nearly 10+ years. Lmao. If seeing where someone came from, and where they are today, makes you lose respect then I promise that no one with any measurable amount of human decency is looking to earn your respect lol.
@pearsonpaintauto34574 жыл бұрын
10+ years and Ben has covered himself with neck tattoos, and I would speculate that some of his songs are not based on his personal life experiences. This video just turned me off of his music because I can see who he used to be and compare it to a fake person that we see today.
@XJonAye4 жыл бұрын
@@pearsonpaintauto3457 hmm interesting point, to me I like his music because it speaks to me, not because of the way he is dressed. I would have lost respect for him, but his music is so good, and refreshing. I feel like he represents the downtrodden young people of the county. The ones who have to work at Wal-Mart, because there are no good jobs anymore, or they are hard to get. All the poor people whos parents had drugs shoved down their throats by doctors, and got sucked into a life of drug addiction. I know thats what I think, but i get what your saying. I don't know I guess ill just have to wait and see what happens in the next few years.
@VHS_NEON4 жыл бұрын
@@pearsonpaintauto3457 Who cares what kind of person he is. A musician should be based on his music and nothing else. Benjamins songs and lyrics are really good and that's the only thing that counts for me. A musicians do music. I don't care if he's an asshole or not as long as he's good. By your logic no one should listen to Kiss since Gene simmons is a dickhead. But that does not change the fact that the music is still awesome.
@pearsonpaintauto34574 жыл бұрын
@@VHS_NEON my logic? You have a video of Benjamin Tod from over 10 years ago here, and he's calling a guy out for being fake. Since this video was taken, Benjamin has had inmate numbers tatted on his neck (probably numbers from a night in county), and he has dropped the suspenders for cutoffs. That's my logic, and that shows how fake he has become.
@VHS_NEON4 жыл бұрын
@@pearsonpaintauto3457 So what? Thast does not change the fact that his music is great. And this video is 10 years old. People change in 10 years. An by the way, sometimes people get tattoos just because they like the look of them. Not because they actually want to say that the are former inmates.

I love Ben's music. Solid dude who is true to himself and those in his circle. Respect. This argument .. not needed. The random guy is just some punk. Ben got caught in moment and probably a bit embarrassed so his emotions went. We all say dumb shit when we are upset or angry. Kudos to him for not throwing hands. Personally , once he threatened to hit me I'd of been like game on bro. End of the day.. Ben should of just ignored the idiot. But it's always easy being on the outside looking in. Edit: on mobile sorry for typos
@brazenlilhussy59753 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I get what you mean. But at this stage Ben must've felt at this stage that everybody apart from him was getting a piece of the Nashville pie. Whilst he was putting into it in the old tradition of train hopping, addictions and living your songs every day and we both know Nashville 'suits' don't like like anything too 'real' a push. So Ben just soldiered on he found a way in the end. I just find it funny how young he looks 'Baby rBen.😇. He's certainly grown into himself now both in maturity and size. When I was younger and still busking every day for my few bucks for maybe some food, definitely a bottle. I took myself very seriously too! Thank fuck there wasn't as many phones around back then!🤐. All the best man.
