What happened with Denmark and France? Their mainlands aren't that large! Greenland is not yet independent, but it can't be counted to the country-size of Denmark, which is about 42.000 km2. The mainland of european France is only about 554.000 km2, the Departments of overseas not counted.

Naturally, Greenland and Denmark are not the same lands. Denmark has a land of about 41,561 kmsq. They just add the total area of Greenland to that of Denmark even tho they are far apart. They can be counted separately.

By the time Canada gained its complete independence from Britain over a long period of time, all North American territories had been establish and settled, so their was no way the country of Canada could gain any more land. You’re point on the Mexican gained territory by America if partially correct. But you should know this war happened when the Republic of Texas (then an independent country) chose to join the United States. The residents held a democratic vote in this matter, in which they opted to join the US. This angered Mexico, even though the people of Texas, an independent country democratically chose to join the US, which lead to war between the two countries. As a result of this war in the treaty Hidalgo, Mexico gave many of their Northern territories to the US. These were largely unsettled and were mostly inhabited by nomadic and unorganized Native tribes, and claims to this areas had long been largely disputed by Several countries. Mexico no longer saw any use of holding on to these territories in which very few Mexicans had settled thus ceding them the the US after their defeat which established the modern day borders between the two countries. The Americans didn’t exactly go in an just decided to steal a bunch of land from completely innocent Mexicans as you seem to have implied. But in a sense this was kinda a land grab, so I’ll give you this one. Fair enough. However your point on the grabbing lands from “Civilized” Native settlements still doesn’t make sense and can’t be applied here. At that point in History the Aztec and Incan empires had been long gone, defeated by the Spanish. And like you said they were in South and Central America. The US is not part of Central America which include several Latin American counties in the Central region of the two continents, including Mexico. Not the US. The land stolen from natives by Americans were all from nomadic and uncivilized tribes, in the same vain as the ones stolen by Canadians. So your argument here is false.

Denmark is a small country. There are just some ...... who add the area of Greeland to that of Denmark. Both of them are far apart and they aren't even on the same continent. The Danes colonized and stole the land, that doesn't mean that it's a part of their country. Also, France colonized Algeria and had a dream that Algeria would be a part of France ( you can see that there is a distance between both countries and France is in Europe). Greenland's area is counted separately. It's just like you adding the area of Algeria to that of France due to the colonization. Algerians can easily travel to France and be treated as French citizens, too.

The current residents are of European descent. As the name suggests, they should be in Europe, not Oceania nor North America. Kosovo is partially recognized as a country. Not every UN member recognizes it - a majority of UN members does so but it's not an overwhelming majority. However, de facto Kosovo is independent. It's might not be the best construction, but there you go. Cyprus is still recognized by the UN as one single country and the only UN memeber that does recognize North Cyprus is … Turkey. The rest of the world sees North Cyprus as an illegally occupied (by Turkish military forces) territory of Cyprus.
