The best performing tanks for Ukraine have always been the T-64 and T-72. Like damn, I've seen Challengers even get lost in the mud. It's probably because of number, doctrine and that they were made for the terrain they're in. Remember the T-64 was specifically made in Ukraine.

Most of the T-series tanks are outdated because of how easily they are prone to be destroyed. People have been saying that they’re just poorly designed because of the autoloader and blah blah but really they’re just outdated for modern combat. Ukrainians are better off with western tanks if they want their crew to come back alive.

You can’t expect a country begging for aid be able to handle the logistics and maintenance of the expensive western equipment. Also most of their current equipment is set up for diesel and gas. The m1 is turbine so it takes aviation fuel.

Also keep in mind that Soviet export tanks were of far lower quality (on purpose) than to those of proper Soviet allies/puppets. So the west wasn't never pressured into making practical improvements to their combat vehicles compared to Russia and Ukraine respectively. Like, they may not have as much high tech, space and whichnot, but they are far more practical and cheap to produce. That said, many NATO tanks, specially the Abrahams and that korean mod of the leopard could have had a far better potential. Yet, still, we're talking about tanks too expensive to deploy in the currently needed numbers. Which would not be a problem back in the days were the heavy industries were still hard going. Also, mind you, the (last gen) marder, puma, (last gen) Bradley and the Merkava (for it's function against irregular warfare) are very good vehicles (three are ifvs but let's conveniently ignore that hehe) even for their production cost. But either ways the so called allies of Ukraine will put their companies in it, give them more debt and the likes rather than to give them the means to produce their own vehicles because of, unironically, the military-industrial complex.

T-64 is main tank of the ukraine and they have the bigest number parts for them since T-64 was produced only in Ukraine. Guns and ammo is the same for T-64, T-72, T-80, PT-91 Twardy and T-90. Don't teach me what ukraine have. I live in Poland and all transports of military aid to the Ukraine are going through my area. All soviet tanks, IFVS, are repeired in Ukraine or in Poland in big numbers in factories and huge maintaining facilities done by Ukrainian and Polish specialists in safe conditions with excelent tools, Leopard 2, Marders, Krabs, KTO Rosomaks are maintained in Ukraine (light maintain) (also with Polish specialists) and in Poland, The same with M1 A1 Abrams , PZH-2000 are maintained in Germany..

A lot of people seem to think that just because a bunch of other countries have together provided a couple of hundreds tanks in total, that makes it Russia fighting 35 countries. They have of course sent more weapons than that, but it is still very different from joining in the war. Even with all these deliveries Russia still has massively larger quantities of military equipment than Ukraine, unless they have lost it all. It is quite funny how people seem to think that because Ukraine recieves aid, Russia is the underdog. But Russia is massively larger than Ukraine both in industrial and military capabilities and even in the first weeks before the military aid had started pouring in, Russia was getting its ass whooped...

Finland has probably sent all 10 old T-55 tanks to Ukraine, because they have left the strengths. Likewise, all 6 breaching and de-mining vehicle, because they are not suitable for use here. Due to the geographical location, we cannot send more even if there is a desire. And we can't tell you exactly what we don't have anymore.

We didnt "donate" 300 tanks We lend them 300 tanks as a loan they will have to pay back if they still exist later we also got discounts for new equipment imports We have now (including ordered not yet delivered) 1500 more tanks we had before the war
