Fun fact about the Bombings in Helsinki, they mostly missed because we put candles in unhabitated, or less unhabitated islands near Helsinki, and turned every light off in Helsinki. Soviets bet were like: Oh, there is the city, but we were ordered to bomb there, Alix! There is light!

The viking part was unaccurate. Most of the viking era finno ugrics and vikings were trading partners not enemies. On late viking era swedish vikings did attack finnish lands few times with an army, but finnish tribes knew how to defend themselves. On the video i got the impression that vikings always just went to rob helpless finns lol.

Some things that could have been shown, even if just briefly: 1008: Battle at Herdaler, believed to have occurred somewhere in modern Uusimaa, where young Olaf II of Norway nearly lost his life. 11th to 13th centuries: Various raids and expeditions by Novgorod against Yam (probably Tavastians most of the time) and vice versa. 1229: Finns Proper "rebellion" to eradicate Christianity and kick the foreign intruders out of their lands, which Gotland gave aid to in the form of weapons, horses, ships and other equipment. 1237: Häme insurrection. I guess the last 2 are kinda covered by the "1200s" section though.

Fun fact about the viking part: very famous "Ulfberht" swords used by wealthy viking kings, thanes and jarls have been found 2nd most on finnish soil (after norway) which suggests that alot of vikings came to finland for their final fight to die in battle and reach valhalla. finns fought back the vikings hard. but they also traded alot with vikings.

More and more scholar are being convinced that finnish tribes had a much bigger presence regarding the viking era nordic countries than thought before. Historic finding are one indicator of pretty elaborate traiding between finns, "vikings" and slavic peoples. Shame that written sources are so scarce from that era.

@@Pikachu-sc1yc Yes, in Finland we call a swedish guy "svedupelle" (when we don't call them gay) svedu is a shortened version of Sweden and "pelle" means clown. "Ryssä" is a term we used for Russia and russians in the Winter War (this term comes from Russia in swedish which is something like Ryssland, I don't know swedish) but it's not "appropriate" anymore What that comment of mine said in finnish: "Ryssä (a russian) is good and leaves our country. Same with Svedu (swedish person)
