As a South Korean, I appreciate that you made a video about our nation's history. However, I'd like to point out inaccuracies in this video that are way too much to just ignore. - The war between Gojoseon and Han started in 109 BC, not AD. And also you skipped about seven centuries or so after this, which seems a bit lame. - The map of the three kingdoms was definitely not like 0:10 in 676 AD. Goguryeo and Baekje had already been absorbed by Silla back then. - Silla was the kingdom which unified the peninsula, not Goguryeo. Although Koryo re-unifies the post-Silla kingdoms in the end, it's not the exact same country. - You left out the whole existence of Unified Silla and Balhae, which were prominent powers in East Asia during the 7~9th centuries AD. - Although Koryo did trade with merchants from the Middle East, it was with the Abbasids, not the Persians. Sassanid Persia already ceased to exist by the 7th century. - The territory of Koryo shown in the map is a bit exaggerated. Most of the northern territories weren't annexed until King Sejong of Joseon sent an expedition. - 0:44 Celadons from Koryo didn't exactly look like that. Just search "Goryeo celadon" on Google and you'll get a brief understanding of how they looked like. - 0:53 Koryo, as a nominal(not de facto) "vassal state", couldn't use golden roof tiles on their buildings unlike China. This part isn't that important so I understand. - The Song dynasty didn't have the same flag as the Qing dynasty. I guess you chose that flag to represent Chinese dynasties in general, but it just makes things confusing. - And also, China wasn't unified back when the Mongols invaded. The northern part was dominated by the Jin dynasty, while to the south were the Song dynasty. - 1:10 Koryo wasn't THAT easily defeated by the Mongols. From their first invasion in 1231, the war lasted for 28 years until Koryo finally gave in. - Koryo did pay tribute to the Mongols as their subject after the war, but China was directly incorporated into the Mongols' territory which became the Yuan dynasty. - The Great Wall of China was built way before the Mongols appeared, when the Qin dynasty had just unified China. The construction didn't restart until the Ming dynasty. - The Japanese invasion of Joseon, also known as Imjin Waeran, lasted from 1592 to 1598. I don't know why you set the period as from 1550 to 1647. - Yet again, the Ming dynasty didn't have the same flag as the Qing dynasty. Please choose flags wisely next time you make a history video. - Although Ming troops did play an important role in defeating the Japanese, they only participated in major battles. Most of the work was done by the Joseon navy. - There was no such occasion when Joseon and the Ming dynasty united to fight against the Dutch; neither did Joseon trade with the Spanish before the 19th century. - Why is the Japanese invasion of Joseon mentioned yet again? The video makes it seem like Japan invaded Joseon twice. The depiction is accurate this time though. - 2:43 What on earth is that map. Is that the Ming and Later Jin dynasties? Ming had never been that large throughout its whole history, and Later Jin's location is wrong. - It is true that Qing invaded and conquered Nanjing in 1645, but the weird flag choices makes it hard to recognize which side is Qing and which is Ming. - The Later Jin invasion of Joseon happened before the fall of Nanjing, in 1637. And what happened to the blue country above China? Shouldn't it be Qing as well? - 3:00 You skipped about 250 years :\ And it was the Qing who first entered the Korean peninsula, as Joseon asked Qing for help to suppress the uprising of peasants. - The Japanese didn't just simply annex Korea right after the Russo-Japanese war ended. The Treaty of 1905 was illegally signed, and Korea wasn't fully annexed until 1910. - Contrary to the video's portrayal, the United States didn't invade Japan out of nowhere. The Japanese Empire first attacked Pearl Harbor, causing the US to join the Allies. - 4:14 Manchukuo, the yellow countryball shown in the video, was a mere Japanese vassal state that did NOT fight against the Japanese, but rather with them. - You didn't portray the Soviet and American military respectively occupying half of the Korean peninsula for a few years, before the two Koreas became independent. - Although the main country that supported South Korea during the Korean War was United States, numerous other countries from the United Nations also sent troops. - The video skipped the whole progress of South Korean economy gradually outrunning that of the North, while North Koreans suffer from severe famine and human rights abuse. - A lot of important events that happened in the late 20th century, such as democratic revolutions, government reforms, and international conventions, are missing.

In Korea, Memorial Day is a day of rest for soldiers who fought for their country. There is a public holiday, and if you go to the cemetery on Memorial Day, you will find my grandfather's grave... Stuff not precise: Goguryeo did NOT unify the Korean Penninsula, Silla did. Silla got help from the Tang Dynasty (China), resulting in loss of the manchuria area of what was once Goguryeo. Silla blocked the Tang dynasty from them invading Silla. Some remaining people of Goguryeo went to manchuria, With a leader (Dae Jo Yeong) and made Balhae, which had a great amount of land. But they were destroyed. Silla got into 3 parts AGAIN, and those who call themselves the hoo-goguryeo(hoo means after.) unified the penninsula, and then started calling themselves Guryeo. 1:02 The Qing dynasty was made in the early 17th century, not in the 11th century. Some warriors of Guryeo got angry by the ignorance they recieve, so they did a Coup d'etat. It is true Mongolia finally got Guryeo, the battle lasted for 40 years. The Great Wall of China was created at BCE, not at the Tang dynasty, and its purpose was not to secure themselves from Mongolians. Invasion of Japan started at 1592. Joseon mostly destroyed Japan by themselves by the admiral Yi Sun Shin. Why tf is their FINLAND????? THat never happened!!! Korea did NOT trade with other countries until 1845. WHERE'S THE WAR BTW QING AND JOSEON???? There wasn't a war btw Netherland and Joseon. 2:38 You earlier said the time was until 1642 bro... Why does it go to the past??????? And their was only one invasion from Japan!!!! At 1645, China and Joseon did not give any money to Mongolia. It stopped at the 13th century. Who's that red and yellow flag in 2:56?????? JOSEON WASN'T DESTROYED UNTIL JAPAN!!!! The process of Korea being annexed by Japan was not clearly made. Bro WWII ended by two nukes, not China beating Japan's ahh. China didn't help until 1951. However, unfortunately, there are slightly incorrect parts, so I write them as comments. 00:11 Goguryeo did not immediately unify the three kingdoms. It was Silla who unified the three kingdoms first, but the remnants of Goguryeo and Baekje revived their kingdoms, and it was Goguryeo (Goryeo) that reunited them. 01:26 And it is not that Goryeo and Joseon were different countries. A Goryeo general revolted, took the throne, and changed the name of the country to Joseon. 04:37 It's not just the United States that helped us in the Korean War. United Kingdom, Turkiye, Canada, Colombia, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Thailand, South Africa, Ethiopia, Belgium, France, Greece, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands are also countries that shed blood for South Korea. There is an error in this video. Goguryeo and Baekje were destroyed by the union of Silla and Tang, but that fact is omitted. Additionally, there is a serious error in missing the Unified Silla period, before the Goryeo period.

The actual Three Kingdoms period is different. Goguryeo was destroyed by Silla and Tang on Dec. 3, 668 A.D., and Baekje was destroyed by Tang outside of Silla on Sept. 1, 660. Then, the Tang Dynasty, which was seeking the land of unified Silla, started the Silla-Tang War, and eventually Silla won, but did not have Goguryeo's Manchuria. Then, Taebong (estimated to have been established in 901) and Later Baekje (estimated to have been established in 900) were newly built, Taebong defeated Later Baekje and built Goryeo, and Silla surrendered the rest of their land and fell in 935.

Thank you for making a good video about Korea's history. But I do have some things to point out. Sorry if this writing is stressing, but I have to mention this. Just like @movedaccount9958, the date of the wars were inaccurate. Also, during the Sila-Baekjae-gogureo period, gogureo did not manage to conquer all 3 kingdoms. First came the power domination of Baekjae, and then for gogureo. None of these kingdoms conquered each other until Sila came out on top. Also, why did you skip Gaya? There are many other things, but I'd say you should not skip 700 years of a video just because it's convoluted to express. Lastly, why do you never mention people?
