Plants have less sophisticated structure which is easily digestible while in animals complexity of inner constituents increases. Ex-- The emotions and memory formation in plants arw very less while the animals especially mammals show the emotions very near to human beings. This complexity does not easily disintegrates in our body. This is the scientific explanation. Further, whatever we eat, we should first serve or make an offering to God before eating it. Sunny Srivastav Wrong genius. Humans are omnivores. That's why we have canines. Our ancestors were hunter gatherers long before we settled down to do agriculture. Humans are easily capable of digestiing meat. We have collagenases and proteases for that purpose. Further more the "emotions" of animals don't affect us when we eat them. In that case all people who eat chicken will become like chicks.
