A small safety pin on the edge of the fabric works great to thread fabric through something. Then just remove the pin when you are finished.

Love your journal! Love the monotone and your end paper, love the lace page edges and the lace on the spine! Poke the end of your fabric strip under the string instead of poking it from the middle.
