Aaron Lewis - Lost and Lonely Lyrics
I've been shattered and broken, for most of my life
But I've done pretty good, with a job and a wife
Got a family that loves me, and a good piece of land
That I bought with hard work, that I earned with these hands
But these things that I do
I did them for you
So just tell me you love me, and tell me you'll stay
And you'll watch over this house, while I go away
And just promise to be here, when I get back home
So we can start where we left off, all those years ago
Before my demons they took control
Lost and lonely, out here on the road
'Cause I've been careless and selfish, got no self respect
I'm an albatross hanging around my own neck
I'm a hard one to handle, and I've played the fool
And I'm so hard to love, 'cause I break all the rules
But these things that I do
'Cause I couldn't have you
So just tell me you love me, and tell me you'll stay
And you'll watch over this house, while I go away
And just promise to be here, when I get back home
So we can start where we left off, all those years ago
Before my demons they took control
Lost and lonely, out here on the road
So just tell me you love me, and tell me you'll stay
And you'll watch over this house, while I go away
And just promise to be here, when I get back home
So we can start where we left off, all those years ago
Before my demons they took control
Lost and lonely, out here on the road
Lost and lonely, out here on the road

In loving memory of my wife and mother of my 4 children. 6/5/1988-7/15/2021 in the early the morning hours (12:25am) after my birthday she lost her life in a car accident . She sent me this song 2 hours earlier through text , I didn’t get the chance to listen until after I found out she died .She is in peace . The demons no longer will bother her . Fly high baby I love you

Condolences friend. As sad as that is this song was a last bittersweet gift to forever be able to use to feel her presence and dance with her "ghost" anytime you need until you can finally be reunited again. I know of such first hand and it always helped when I needed.

I'm a 36 year old man. When I heard this the first time, I hit my knees and bawled like a baby. When you realize what this song means, it hits you like a million lightning bolts. The love of my life and I are still together but yet I miss her. I'm so lonely. I constantly hurt her in ways it feels I have no control of. All I want to do is make her smile and laugh. She's my everything. It kills me I can't or it feels like I can't give her happiness anymore. Yet she won't leave my side. I just need to know she still loves me. I'm a good hearted man. Faithful, loyal, work hard, but I have demons. Everyone does. They always say if you love someone, set them free. If they come back, it's meant to be. I'd rather die or hurt for the rest of my life so she won't hurt anymore in any way. Damn, this song knows my heart. If anyone else is in my situation, I don't care what others say. Go with your heart. If you care more for your loves happiness, set them free. Love hurts but it also is pure bliss. But the what ifs are the hardest part. What if next week things get back the way they used to be and you're both are on top of the world again? Trust me, I know how you're feeling. Thanks to the uploader of this song. It's changed my life. God bless to whomever stuck around and read all of this. Joshua

I too have been listening to AARON LEWIS sing for so long. This song is AMAZING! Any1 including myself can spin their own story but w/o Aaron Lewis brilliantly pouring his heart with his intoxicating voice playing his guitar so ever flawlessly ....... it wouldn't mean the same. Music is food that MY soul has to have to heal, to set my emotions straight so I can be free of them. ❤❤❤❤❤U AARON LEWIS aka lead singer STAIND

Me and my husband met on the road homeless almost 15 years ago. We built a great life, fought for a good life, had beautiful babies, a beautiful home, and really turned everything around. He found me shattered, lost and hitchhiking alone and protected me ever since. I started my own business, and everything looks pretty good from the outside. We look like a miracle story. But I have suffered from severe depression and alcoholism for years, with too many demons to mention. I'll stay sober for a very long time, but if I relapse I'm gone for days, hiding in my car/hotel a complete fucking mess. When I'm gone he takes care of our home and babies, and he's never given up on me. It's like I've told myself I've never deserved any of them or my life today. He loved me so hard until I finally started to love myself. This song hits home. It started playing when I was gone once and my plan was to never come back and leave this world. After this song I got myself to a meeting, came back home and haven't left or drank since. I now believe I meant to be there for him, my babies and life. This song literally saved my life.

I've been drinking liquor daily for months. I traveled 250 miles to see my daughters and was left in the dark. I called, went there, left notes, and nothing happened. agreed! i'm not much of a country fan like i am with some other genres i listen to (mainly metal and rap) but i can appreciate that some people think country singers are talented and their music can touch many souls. (depending on the artist and people's opinions, since a lot of newer country singers are not "true country" in most people's eyes but people like what they like)

I spent most of my life incarcerated. Did 29 years in jail- got out and the world was a completely foreign atmosphere for me. I was lost and felt like I just didn't fit in this world. Then I found the song "EPIPHANY" and it changed my life. Through your music , you've saved my life literally. Thank you for sharing such depth and honesty in your music. You truly are a savior man. I know that feeling of not knowing how to talk to him or her after coming back from a place like that all I can say is for advice be patient find tim to remind him of what he liked to do before he left and remind him he is still loved and don't give up on him. Make time for you too more often let him feel wanted and emotionally is most important.

I'm a grown man and this song makes me cry everytime I hear it. The relation I have to it is scary. Maybe I wasnt the best man all the time. But when your lost and lonely it makes you do things you normally wouldnt do. But this song means alot to me. I suffer from severe Anxiety and depression and I've drank my life away for the past 7 years. I've been alive for 26 years and I cant say I remember the last 4 years. Alcohol is my way out of panic and anxiety. I've cheated on my girlfriend of 8 years, I've betrayed her and left her when her and my son looked up to me. But being lost and lonely in your head does something to you. It changes you. You fear change, you fear love, and better yet you fear yourself because of the self destruct you do to your own mind, body and soul. My demon is anxiety and alcohol and it ruined the man I was dreaming to become for the love of my life.

As a trucker with a wonderful woman back home, this song really reminds me of how much that girl goes through while I'm out here, from taking care of our children, taking care of the house, and working a job as well. I spend weeks on the road and many times I lay in this truck and think of how hard it is on both of us to put our love on hold so I can go drive this truck. But she stands beside me and pushes me to stick with this wonderful career even though it is tough. Big thanks to Aaron Lewis for putting my thoughts into words.

As I’m laying awake in bed when my husband just left for work. I’m thinking back at how I acted on Friday, selfish, angry, rude, disrespectfull, hateful, etc. I am dealing with mental health issues and I have never in my life dealt with anything like this. I have cried out to him, doctors, family, etc and all I got was a laugh from him. I get people don’t understand what one’s going thru, however I don’t know what I’m going thru. For anyone else in the world struggling with any of the same, or you’re able to relate or not please reach out and get some help! You all matter, and I love you all! This song hits so different in all the right ways.

My father passed away recently and this is one of the songs he had in his playlist that was under my name. My father suffered from mental demons and drug addictions. Being his son even though he left a lot I am glad he was my father. I will be waiting to see him in heaven so we can continue where we left off.

I made a stupid mistake and left my husband for an idiot. And then I heard this song for the first time. I called him and bawled and bawled. He said to me you heard it didnt you? And all I could say was "Baby please" We are still working on it but, we are together. And that's the best part. Thank you Aaron for writing this and making me see.

I'm also 38 years old and the very first time I heard this song I hit my knees also. the words to this song describe my life and relationship to my ex wife whom I love dearly and failed to see the mistakes I was making was gonna cause me to now be divorced. I sing this song everyday and am considering covering it soon. Its almost as if this was wrote to show me just where I went wrong and has showed me that some of the best lessons in life are the hardest learned! Thank you Aaron Lewis for such a eye opening song. To those of you out there who take your spouse for granted, you better wake up because you don't know what you've got till its gone.

Damien, demons always try to find a way to beat you or bring you down, but life has its ways to protect you. Your children are the force field that helps you realise when things get clouded that the rays of sunshine to guide you thru are your kids! The love and care you give them will make you the father they will love always!! I have my kids who remind me everyday that no matter how shitty life can get, their sunshine will raise me up and fight on!! Big man hugs from the Uk
