How much oil did you actually need to fill..im dead in water until local tractor supply finds my hardware i need to mount my new toy
@nevinleiby

I used about 1.75 quarts of 80-90W oil. I filled up until bleed screw started to dump oil, then tipped auger towards tractor to dump overflow. I also found it much easier to remove guard, attach PTO shaft, reattach guard, then attach PTO shaft onto tractor. That allows maximum ability to attach the shaft, which even when fully lubed, was an absolute bear to get onto crankcase.

In your drilling vid, it looks like the control arm was beating on the clevis pin. May be go in from the other side?

The little things. Man, I would go for one in a skinny min, except there is almost no place inside of 20 miles from here, where it would work out. I built production pole barns for years. One of the guys picked up a pensioned off powery company auger. Even that beat it self up digging here. It had hydraulics to control vertical. Lines blew! The new power company units, don't stop for any thing. Keep having fun! Chris

Good video. wouldn't it be best to temporarily remove the shaft guard and move the tractor onto a slope to enable the 3PT. toFULLY drop while being able to actually see the PTO drive shaft extend/retract limits?

Hey, When I watched this the first time, I felt bad for your tail gate cables. Funny, joke on me the next day, one of mine gave up! The first time they went, the Dodge was almost old enough to vote. From Mopar $30.00 each. This time at 23 years old $15.00 for the pair, thanks to Amazon. Your crate was too long to get the gate off. Some times life is easier with out it all around. When towing it is easier to see back there for one. Reaching over it is a drag. Have fun! I'am in hiding from the sun! Chris

Price on those sure has gone up since I bought mine! Mine was $149 from Farm and Fleet in 2008. When I need more weight on the end for some down push, I have a couple of old suitcase weights I ties onto the frame. A lot safer than a body playing the PTO game. Not being critical (Much Anyway) but I don't want to see the video where you have to untwist yer kid from the PTO Shaft :)

When unloading it from the back of the truck, I might have stopped where you had it hanging out but still parallel to the ground, put a 2x4 or 4x4 under the portion out of the truck and then driven around like you did. At that point you would have be "snatching it out of the air" instead of trying to pick it up at an angle. All in all, grabbed it just fine though.

As always, great video! I have the BX23s as well so I always wondered if that model would work with the BX. I have a similar PTO PHD that is probably from the same manufacturer as countyline. Ive used it with my 78 Ford 2600 tractor but wasn’t convinced it would fit the BX. So now i know! I know you are safety oriented so please heed me when I say please make sure no is around that PHD other than the operator in the seat while it’s in action. Those can hurt someone in a real hurry. And nice and steady on the augering-my PHD has been more than enough to pull the front end of that old ford 2600 off the ground if digging too fast And definitely a southeast Kentucky thing to see a DG across the road 😉 😂 From Bell county so i know all about the power of the DG! Haha Appreciate the videos, looking forward to seeing the PHD in action!

What I’ve done in the past is use a ratchet strap and strap it down to the forks so it won’t cantilever over and if it’s really long and awkward I’ll drop it and reposition. But if it works without issue then your fine.

I did. I tipped the PTO guard up on the tractor and the collar pretty much has to be pulled back from the beginning. It was really tight in the beginning but after some use it has gotten easier.

@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead I wish i could figure out a way to keep the collar pulled back until i get it lined up..i might have to engineer something i can snatch out once i get it on the shaft,,problem is im trying it alone,,so called christian friends who actually work on tractors are too busy or have many excuses to help me for 5 minutes,,i looked online and the older ones had a button to push to release collar,,that would make it alot easier..hopefully today i will have some success,im 67 and always done my own work,,i have found that its best sometimes to just quit with a problem repair until next day when im rested and not frustrated..i also noticed the ball inside the main arm that attaches to tractor has different size holes,,,i had to grind down my arm at the attach point on bottom so it would line up,,i noticed that it was easier to put pin in larger hole,,do you think it matters whicjh hole,,thanks for responding,im hoping to be drilling soon,,i been using a cordless ryobi auger and its a wrist breaker,,itd powerful and great until i hit a root then it jerks,,.i have 2 acres i have to fence in because of new neighbors who have pit bulls,,already lost 2 old yard cats,,not losing anymore,,

Man, I hate to hear you lost animals, I’ve dealt with that same problem. So I had to grind on mine to attach the top link point as well. The larger hole is meant for category 2 three point hitch. So the larger hole will leave some slip in it which might cause it to wear quicker. If you aren’t using it a ton that way it probably won’t hurt it, but the small hole is for category 1 which is what the BX is. Good luck. Sometimes stepping away is the answer. 👊

Hi Lucas, when I first got my BX 2360 looked into getting a post hole digger for the tractor. Kabota 🚜 said they do not recommend you put one of those on your tractor. They said it was too dangerous for that size tractor so I had to rent a post hole digger and put 97 post in the ground. Just thought you’d like to know.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure what they would consider too dangerous about it. The PHD is rated for 18hp and up. Either way, it handles it really well. I had borrowed one to set all of my posts for my shop and that convinced me I needed one. Also, the one I borrowed is from a guy running a BX25D.
