Absolute Wow' Kiki and Leon my friends it's huge and so cool! Now that's a Greenhouse ❤ I really like the structure and solid ! One thing I would have done with the wood touching or close to the ground is preserving from Rot by burning then treating with Linseed oil , it's called Shou sugi ban ! I was keeping you both in prayers as that huge storm Cyclone bomb brought devastating winds and epic rain all along the coast up to Victoria and Vancouver Island! Kudos to this couple for avoiding the click bait intros Jake uses. But as a builder I have to comment that untreated soft wood sitting on wet earth may last a year or two at most. And then there are the horrifical storms that will batter in the winter. I highly doubt the plastic sheeting will still be there come spring. Lastly, this is supposed to be an example of a "off-grid" in the wilderness. So what's up with the power lines right in the background? Jake managed to crop them out of his videos but here they stand out like a sore thumb.

@@Intothewild-kikiandleon I don't know the thickness of your sheeting but from the video it looks like your rafters are way too far apart for that sheeting. Plastic sheeting should be supported at least by rafters every two feet, not 4 or 5'. And given the snow load I doubt even that would be enough. Also as i mentioned the footing of green wood on wet earth will be decayed in short order. More to the point, in your latitude the winter sun barely shines for 8 hours so without grow lights and heaters nothing will grow in this except maybe mold in the winter. And given that summer days are around 16 hours long without vents that greenhouse will be scorching hot. You two put a lot of work into this project and your carpentry work is admirable. But like the ugly unfinished shipping container structure I fear all your work will have been for naught.

Hi there! Yes, Actually it would have been better for the wood not to touch the ground, but for us this was the only way to build the substructure. We stained the wood to make it last longer👍
