I watched this film a few years ago and the girl was the most annoying. They were not STUCK there, they could have taken a boat in the calmest season, stuck close to land as they made their way back to North America by crossing to Greenland, and then hopping over to Canada, Or they could hop east over to the Uk and down if they wanted to live there. Quite a few options, plus they would not have starved as long as they had fishing gear. They were a depressing pair, and she was such a defeatist.

@@aethellstan The early settlers to Iceland had no power and they thrived. Lots of sea food to harvest, no doubt the ability to keep a garden in the warmer months as I believe the way they constructed turf houses allowed for some green housing effect.. They still have a few turf homes around and saved in heritage locations and they could burn peat for heat and cooking. I watched the film, and those two were dismal people; survival was wasted on that pair. lol

It will all be rotten in 2-3 years. And things break down. The power will stop, no one ois caring for the generators or infrastructure. After a windstorm, who fixes the power? Live would soon degenerate into subsistent living and toil. Hopefully the realities of life actually occur to you. Or you are doomed friend. Nothing lasts as it is. it has to be maintained.

In part 2.. The world is continuing on with the normal crowds and noise when a couple suddenly disappears. The hotel seems concerned until they realize the couples credit card was on file and the billing for the room completes normally. We visit a church, restaurant, grocery store, flower shop, and building supply; no one seems to be concerned about the missing couple as they go about their business. Finally we see a mother texting her daughter but the phone never shows the messages have been delivered. We close out with police confused about a grave that suddenly appeared for a man named Nils whom it seems died of natural causes but no one knows who buried him. In the background at the police station a news report on TV indicates that troublesome water main break has been repaired and the city should be getting tap water back shortly.

I would have been having so much fun. I would have been driving all the expensive cars, staying in mansions, eating the best food, taking the best drugs 😂. Ain’t no way she was going to leave me. She just needed the right drugs. It wasn’t even that long and she killed herself. You know she didn’t like him at all. I would have been looking for other people doe. Setting off flares and fireworks in the sky at night. But damn the world is yours. How can you messed that up. Everything is yours. And you have internet too. What!!! The sky is the limit.

This just tells me how ungrateful most women can be, she basically has been given the whole world to share with her lover but she only wants to find other people. Nothing lasts as it is. it has to be maintained. The food in stores will rot, cans are only good for 2 years at best. things wear out. Only a handyman would survive over 4-5 years in anything better then subsistent living. But a wily person with a broad mind and an ability to read books would be able to prosper. Sht , id fly back myself, or take a sailboat(scary) Maybe find a ship and take the fast course in marine navigator. After all I wont need to dock it, Ill just beach the ship on the North American continent and go on foot up the beach...settle in SW Fla. Food and resources abound naturally and no snow. Ill take 95 degrees hot at 100% humidity over a 6 months a year frozen wasteland we have up north anytime. Fricken prosper, right up till the point of needing medical aid...then doomed.
