It may not be something I write about since others have already talked about it, but the fact that you assert that it is a "message to teenagers" is a point of contention. It's a universal lyric that resonates with people of any age. Finally...I apologize for my persistent reply.

@@PhoenixXDuo No, I listen to many different bands and musicians, especially ones who are doing exceptional work like Dimash Kudibergen, Diana Ankudinova and Angelina Jordan, but many classic rock and metal bands from the 60s onward. As a songwriter myself I am always looking for acts that redefine their genras and bring unique approaches to their composing and live performance. I just happen to think BABYMETAL is the most groundbreaking band of them all.

I am in my late 40's and I love BABYMETAL. (I have listened to many genres of music other than rock and metal, and that hasn't changed.) The contrast and fusion of metal, pop, dance, and performance is wonderful, and I am impressed by the new possibilities of metal. This "newness" is probably what is attracting the interest of prominent international artists.

You are Japanese I think, so for you it's understandable, but I mean more about Europeans or American, where the culture is totally different and usually metal mean bulky man with beards (not necessarily, but this is the stereotype)

@@PhoenixXDuo That stereotype is understandable even among Japanese. In my case, I am more inclined to be flexible about something new. Whatever the case may be, each person has his/her own way of thinking, so it is just that I am like that rather than a Japanese person.

@@PhoenixXDuo I am not Japanese - I'm from the UK, in my 60s, been listening to and enjoying all sorts of rock and metal (and other genres) since the early 70s and before ... BABYMETAL have surpassed all my previous favourite bands. Open your mind - metal doesn't have to be exclusively sweaty men with beards and tattoos who scream and growl ... in fact it was that stereotype that eventually bored me so much that I almost gave up on metal - there was no originality, nothing new, nothing that I hadn't seen done better a thousand times before. Then I discovered BABYMETAL - they are original, unique, talented and probably the most entertaining thing I have ever had the pleasure to witness. Fair enough, they will not be everybody's cup of tea, we all like different things, but don't dismiss them as just being for kids and teenagers - they are so much more than that.

Nice reaction. They did a great job performing for the ten years of Babymetal shows at the Budokan. They knew what folks went through to get there. Since this was near the start of covid lockdowns in Japan. Karate is one of their strong positive message songs. About going forward no matter how hard it is. Hurt and down. get up and you don't have to go it alone. Friends can help. Babymetal has made statement about always being on your side. Such an up-lifting gesture. Many folks have commented on how Babymetal have gotten them through some tough times in their lives. A real cure for depression.

To answer you question as why older men can like this, I guess as you get older you care less about how others see your masculinity, they are entertaining the music is good and that is what matters, if people think you are weird for liking it, who cares? personally I find it weird that they feel they need to act out an image of themselves in order to feel accepted

_Ossu!_ 🦊🤘🥋 Welcome back to the Foxhole. Budokan 2021 marks their 10 years anniversary celebration and seal the Metal Resistance chapter along with another seal for the group, luckily that seal is already broken since they already released their new album and kick start of their new era, get ready for new BM side we've never seen before. They fought against many enemies on this road and many more battles, but they manage to get through all of it, and this song is one of those strong weapons they had, to fight and conquer every metal heart that don't believe in them, you probably already know Road Of Resistance if not I highly recommend to check it out. Budokan Arena is just a name for general martial arts place, there are other Budokan throughout Japan but this one in Tokyo is the most important and is big, this is the place any artist wants to reach when you're over the top, and they did it already in 2014 when they were even younger and having many struggles so they needed a revenge to pull away those ghosts from the past. Sadly this 2021 live concerts is a half capacity due to covid restrictions and safety measures and crowd wasn't allowed to mosh'sh, crowd surfing or shout without face mask, instead they can stomp their feet, clap their hands or doing a human wave, at least they can do something to participate in this epic and memorable date event. Since YuiMetal left the group officially in 2018 you won't see her after that year at live performance. After 2019 they implemented this new _avenger_ system with three different backup dancers rotating in different songs and live performances, they don't sing or have a mic, they just dance and none of them were official BM member just like the Kami Band, until this year when one of the avengers, Momoko Okazaki the one you saw here, become an official member of this group, she's MomoMetal now. Also they switched the face paints of the Kami Band and now they're using masks, many fans don't like that, i personally don't bother at all since this is probably related to not having to give excuses for switching members after sad Mikio Fujioka departure (R.I.P.) and is probably even more practical to wear every live show on tour instead of taking time with makeup. They also got a new Western Kami Band with different set of musicians not from Japan, that's probably another reason they put mask on them, but fans discovered who they are anyways, more of them when you get to Legend Metal Galaxy Day 2 or LA Forum. Like i said, Momoko Okazaki was the _avenger_ or third backup dancer filling the third spot in all these 10 live concerts. If you want the real highlights songs on this 10 BABYMETAL Years live shows I highly recommend you not to miss: - "From Dusk Till Dawn" (long time waited proshot version) - Akatsuki. (SuMetal solo mixed with a little bit of the Unfinished Version) - Onedari Daisakusen (MoaMetal solo along with baby-foxes) - GJ! (another MoaMetal solo) - No Rain No Rainbow (SuMetal "playing" the piano) - In The Name Of - Babymetal Death Shin Version - BxMxC - Syncopation Of course their classic songs and the rest are enjoyable too. Remember you can find all these songs with watermarked logo safe to react at Babymetal Reactor Resource channel, check "Future Plans" vid and follow instructions to get all of them. If you wanna watch the live versión with the original trío then i suggest you to check it out live at Download Festival 2016 and see what SuMetal can do in front of a massive UK crowd. Last but not least, just because they sound childish with their high pitch voices and chorus, and targeted teenagers female with their songs that it's not a demerit at all, maybe the message is to that audience but is also a reminder of their own path fighting against people like you laughing like a clown thinking they're going nowhere with their music and message, metalheads elitists most of them, they give metal sound a breath of fresh air like no other band did, and got the bless of many rock and metal legends like Metallica, Rob Haldford, Korn, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, RHCP, Marty Friedman and many more for a reason, and if they caught the attention of grown up old men then certainly their songs cross the generational gap and they can be heard by anyone, so get over it or try to hear their new songs from "The Other One" album with a more mature sound and less kawaii metal songs.🦊🤘🔥
@Grington300 Жыл бұрын
They used karate to illustrate the message of the song because it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - and I don't understand why you think that message would only apply to kids and teenagers? People have problems and issues with life and those can happen at any time regardless of their age. Fighting through problems, helping each other, being helped is not dependent on age. They are not martial artists, so the choreography may not use authentic karate moves, but they tried to get it as close as they could. BABYMETAL is not just for kids and teenagers - if you open your mind a little you will eventually recognise the quality of the writing, the musicianship, the vocals and the performance and you will realise it is for anybody and everybody regardless of their age, gender, nationality or whatever else. Among the countless thousands of fans they have there are so many who are a lot older and more experienced (and possibly even more cynical) than you are - and they have those fans because BABYMETAL are original, innovative, unique, full of heart and provide the best entertainment. I hope your cough gets better.

Good reaction....and I can say that at 60 years old, and listening to metal since the late 70's, Babymetal has brought a whole new energy to what was getting to be a pretty boring, same old stuff scene...at least for me. I can understand no them being someone's "cup of tea", but I can assure that many people (including a large number of men) older than I am, are very much into them as well. This song may be more to your taste "Death - Legend 1997" kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIPGapeYnM51hqs. Mainly instrumental with a stage performance that you see few metal bands pull off. Karate @ Budokan 2021. Su-Metal [Single Ponytail] & Moametal [Double Ponytail] are the original members of Babymetal. Momokometal [Freehair] is the Avengers. "Karate" is a song by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal from their second studio album, Metal Resistance. Babymetal is the only metal 🤘 band that has a full set of choreographed dance moves which catered and suited for every songs which credited to Mikikometal for the choreography. "Karate" also features djent-like riffs and a J-pop melody. Loudwire's Graham Hartmann described the song as "incredibly charming. Instrumentally, it’s also heavy as hell. The song’s main riff is way low on the sonic spectrum, chugging away in a no-nonsense djent fashion." “Karate” took home the trophy for Best Metal Song @ the 2016 Annual Loudwire Music Awards. BABYMETAL is the youngest act to perform at the Budokan and artists need to be invited to perform there. Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple. Song Notes: -The song debuted live at Yokohama Arena "The Final Chapter Of Trilogy" on December 12, 2015. -The song debuted as digital release to promote "Metal Resistance" on February 25. 2016. -Karate was released as second track of "Metal Resistance", on April 1, 2016. Welcome back & Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。On Jan. 19, 2021, I watched the Karate performance with tears on Day-1 of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan Concerts at the venue. Especially, when Su hit the high note flawlessly at the end with her matured rich voice, everything was soothed. Fans knew Team BABYMETAL had gone through hard time in 2020 that was supposed to be a glorious year to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The serial 10 shows in Tokyo were held including the period under the states of emergency caused by COVID. Even many of their fans criticized the Team for taking such risks to hold the big events that timing. The Team, however, challenged the situation and took strict and perfect countermeasures against the infection to complete them. The audience, of course, cooperated with the Team and abided by a number of restrictions and accepted inconveniences to protect the events and make their shows ultimately successful. That is our pride as BM fans.
