The Eminem Show was my musical bible growing up. The entire album was a direct result of him studying Tupac and is when he was at his highest level of mastery of what he learned studying Tupac's delivery
@marshmellow-pq9zr5 ай бұрын
I absolutely love his early work. But I think as far as mastery, he is better now than he ever was. He doesn't have the anger he had back then.
@andrewsears165 ай бұрын
@@marshmellow-pq9zr I don't mean mastery in the sense that you do because I agree with your statement. What I mean is mastery of what he learned from studying Tupac's delivery. To give a better idea of what that means to me...I've always described Tupac's delivery as "dripping with emotion" Tupac isn't great because of his technical rhyme schemes or over the top wordplay...it was his delivery and over all musicality. The Eminem Show was the era in which Eminem had the highest mastery of that specific tupac-esque delivery and THAT is what people describe as "old em". At least that's my opinionated conclusion from the data my perspective has provided. Always open to counter arguments and thoughts from different perspectives!
@andrewsears165 ай бұрын
@@marshmellow-pq9zr I would like to add that I do feel like he's been tapping into to it more and more again and that his overdose (I think) may have caused some sort of something that made it hard for him to connect to that level of musicality and soul filled vibe he displayed on this album
@marshmellow-pq9zr5 ай бұрын
@@andrewsears16 Yeah I know what you mean. I'm not arguing that statement. Just the general consensus is most people crap on him after this album. Which I don't understand. I love all his albums always have. To me he is the GOAT because he can do it all at the highest level or above. Delivery, Flows, Passion, Storytelling, Rhyme schemes, Cadence, Speed, Clarity, the list can go on and on. The fact that so much of his life relates to mine only make me feel it more.
@jessicarichter64365 ай бұрын
@@andrewsears16why do you think this flow is pacs & not like Ems rock bottom SSLP or Stan, the way I am, drug ballad MMLP before the Eminem show? Ems passion & conviction in his voice is why I fell in love with his music besides the fact he’s an insanely talented lyricist. It’s like I can feel his pain in my own veins. He’s had it even before SSEP if you rewatch his old battle rap footage so its not pacs delivery but I can see why your making that connection as pac & em are both from the 90s & 2 of the most known rappers beloved for the intensity of their unique voices. Their the only 2 to make me cry from rap songs cos of the raw emotion in how they spit, ems had it in so many songs since TES too like lose yourself, castle, arose, believe, I need a dr, medicine man, mockingbird, when I’m gone. Busta & DMX are also known for the energy & intensity in their voices not bars but I wouldn’t say Em & pac are using bustas or Dmx’s delivery. Their all inspired by each other as artists tho so it’s no harm either way don’t want you to think I’m arguing just discussing what you said.
