Sid became the bass player when Glen, the original bass player was sacked by the band.

Sid came later. He was the bassist but wasn’t good at it. Glen was the original bassist who did the album recordings. The band got rid of him because he wasn’t “punk” enough or didn’t have the look to sell like Sid did.

i love the intro already... love the sex pistols.. they will forever be legendary. only made 1 album and changed punk and the youth of England forever. but you know i'm full british and english.. but when i first found them out at age 15, i thought vicious was the singer also.... but nah its Johnny Rotten... but i see how you thought that has he was the main guy of the pistols when he came in and all eyes were on him... thank you for the reaction.. much love! (also Vicious was a very good punk singer.. to the point Paul Anka said he made the best cover to "Frank Sinatra - My way" that anyone have ver pretty much made.. and there are many covers now in our day but i'm sure the comment still stands

The singer had spinal meningitis as a child which gave him a hunched back. singing in that position eased the it for him.

Thanks! They really ignited something that changed the course for a lot of musicians/would be musicians in the late '70's. Brilliant song, brilliant lyrcs, not a brilliant band, but very core. And John Lydon is one of the greatest and most gifted personalities in rock music ever.

A few points to clarify for you. Firstly the guys were VERY intelligent in their own unconventional way. They aren't just A Punk band, they and their svengali manager Malcom McLaren CREATED PUNK, literally created it. Malcolm had the vision, the guys created the sound and Malcolm's girlfriend at the time, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood created the look. They were the first band EVER to be called Punk, by British tabloid rag the Daily Mirror. Also Sid Vicious, despite appearing in this video never played a single note in any Pistols song, he couldn't play he only looked the part. Johnny's posture as he sings was entirely down to a childhood disease that affected his spine. Finally, young lady, you simply don't have the look you wear today WITHOUT the Sex Pistols, period!
