That was 100 per a made up story. Like, oh yes, you are friend with one of them, but you also saw both together at a bar, but there was also a scary looking man with them, then the three went out of the bar, but you saw them hours later, sitting in the car of the one dude you didn't know, and then you go ask, and he tells you that the guy will kill them. Someone needed a bit of attention, that's all. That dude had a psychotic break, tried to get rid of his electronics, believing they were bugged or whatever, then waited to get hands on his old electronics, drove into the foods, figured the old ones had be bugged as well, destroyed and burned everything and legged it into the wild.

Something about Marshall's case nobody talks about is the fact that the steering column was removed from his truck and NEVER FOUND. That is a complicated and time consuming endeavor even when you're in a garage with all the right tools. So either someone extremely competent was there in the woods to do the wrenching, or the truck was towed/moved there after it was already removed.
@MsSonali1980

Possibly, though if you look where it was on Google maps it is miles down a logging road which is quite hard to traverse without a truck or higher vehicle. It's pretty far out there. And another KZbinr made a hiking video with a group that stumbled across it as well, kinda creepy really. Also some random guy just came and took the truck for scrap, police never investigated it as a crime scene. Or at least didn't restrict access to anybody walking by

@@kjean8605 Probably why we ALL kinda did dumb things, where we thought we were invincible, as young adults. You can tell by the pic her bf took of her there, neither thought they would get into any trouble and thought this would be a fun adventure. I'm guessing they may have taken drugs before they went...we know they had brought drugs for when they got there. I'm guessing the drugs didn't help her bf when he tried to swim out in vain to try to get the boat back and most likely drowned, sadly. I can't imagine, her, not being able to swim (I'm the same...can't swim either, not thrilled with water), would ever chance, in the middle of the night, going out in the water that her bf just drowned in to either get that boat or swim anywhere. She probably just cried and hid in fear. I'm guessing she thought they were alone there...when they really weren't. Somebody there could have easily did what they wanted with her, killed her, and sunk her body in the ocean. I was never the adventurous one, even as a young woman, but still I got myself in 2 predicaments, one that if it wasn't for a young guy who saved my life and by the Grace of God, I wouldn't be here today. Her bf and her just weren't that lucky, sadly.

I picked up a hitchhiker years ago around Thanksgiving. It was cold and raining. I treated him to a dinner and a beer, we hung out long enough for him to get dry and warm. He told me about how he had started out his journey with better gear, but in the forest of canada he had been jumped by a gang of men who spoke Russian. They took everything from him and he felt he was lucky to have gotten away with his life.

I feel like this video illustrates how strong of a force the ocean is. A lot of these cases are likely drownings in the ocean, and then the currents of the ocean, which can be swift in one direction, can wash you out to sea.

Was definitely a wild way to witness the power of the ocean first hand.

@@waffle_chair9269 not really. Any number of factors can affect what happens to a body in water. For one, if he did start swimming, he'd likely have been away from the lighthouse a bit, maybe even made it to the boat but unable to get into it, held on for a bit til he couldn't anymore or waves hitting him in the face or whatever and drowned. And if she fell in right there, she'd have been subject to whatever currents were immediately surrounding the lighthouse. Which would be different than even being 100 yards away. Water moves different around a structure. Also, currents can be vast but there can also be a bunch of small ones in a given area, moving in the same direction, then splitting or in different layers of the water table, etc. And I haven't seen anyone mention the most obvious thing- the coast of New England has tons of sharks, plenty of great whites and other large ones

This same 30 years on the same lake, I always THOUGHT I was a strong swimmer. I had taken about 12 years of swimming lessons, swam at the local pool every summer and of course the lake. Until one day.. my cousin and I were jumping off the boat no jackets of course, we’d done it 10000 times before. This day the boat had drifted the entirety of the lake, before we noticed. It only looked about 15 feet from us and being the strong swimmer I was gonna be fine getting to it. WRONG. It was drifting as I was swimming. Never closing the gap. I quickly got tired as did my cousin who couldn’t even backfloat anymore. She was holding onto me dragging me down i literally thought I was going to die that day. Learned that day it doesn’t matter how experienced you think you are. Water is a beast and should never be underestimated. If I wasnt able to backfloat I’d be dead rn. My cousin started to panic immediately I was shocked she couldn’t even back float. And she too had taken over a decade of swimming lessons. It was really such a surreal and eye open experience and tbh I haven’t been back in the lake like that since. (In the middle or jumping off a boat and ALWAYS wear a life jacket now) I cringe when I think back to all the times I carelessly got in the deep water without one. So sad for her family that they don’t have real closure. ETA and this was in broad daylight. I can’t imagine if it had been dark.

In Australia all our pay phones are now free. As long as the number is within Australia which i think is a great idea. You never know who has had to flee a situation without their phone or they don't have money on their phone.

There are cheap cell phones still available with pay for minutes type plans. You don’t have to get an expensive smart phone. Also most cell phones you can call 911 whether you have service or not

@@leinonibishop9480what this person said ☝️ if you have money for gas you have money to buy a cheap $30 phone and $25 prepaid minutes card to use for emergencies. Or just the phone in case you only call 911. Also, I use visible which has unlimited minutes for 25/mo. Stay safe ❤️

Out of the 1000s of people in the UK who go permanently missing each year and are never found again, what has actually happened to them? I remember one news article that said of missing people who are found 50% of them 'opted out', not sure about the other 50% But the ones who are never found again? Baffles me.

the most unsettling part about all of this is the 8 missed calls.. what would they have said had the calls been answered? what was happening in those moments? you can theorize that they tipped and drowned not being able to swim, but they wouldn't have been able to make the phone calls had that been the case. so eerie man.

This was a great one, Mike. Thank you. Very heartbreaking stories I’ve never heard of. I’m from north Jersey so it’s interesting to me to hear these stories. I was a bartender for over a decade and worked in some seedy areas and wasn’t always aware of my surroundings so I’m thankful to be alive. The background is great, it looks nice on you. You do great work.

I live in Brooklyn, NY & a bunch of neighborhood kids went out on a boat in like 2012. It was chilly so they all had jackets on. The boat flipped, they all drown. All fit 20 year olds. The clothes got soaked & were too heavy.

Adding in that cold water &/or wind chill makes body temperature drop so rapidly that hypothermia kills or causing drowning within minutes no matter how good of a swimmer someone is.

An guy I work with had a friend who was on a little inflatable boat with no life vest and the water at this time of year is 15°! The bottom of the boat was ripped by tree limbs under the water and he drowned as his wife and children watched from shore absolutely terrified & screaming as he drowned. Had he been wearing a vest he might have made it to the shoreline? But the water was so cold and his muscles just locked up. So tragic 😢 just a very bad idea to go on the water in winter and no life vest.

That's so sad 😢 my friends roommate got drunk at a Christmas party a few years ago and fell off the jetty into the river right near the bar, no one noticed and he drowned. It was the middle of summer so no heavy clothes but booze and water can be a fatal mix 😞
