I like this style where you're interacting with someone (your wife) and teaching them about the process and terminology instead of just talking to the camera.

BEST VIDEOS YET!! The slowed down tempo is perfect!! Actually learned stuff about plumbing. Oh, you can look at the ceiling joist in the attic to see which partitions ( interior walls) are the supporting partitions. The rafters will also let you know which way the supporting wall run.

@@themplar there’s a good reason for that. When you do your business, literal physical ”fairy dust” particles go in the air and spread out all over. I don’t think you want that where you eat. I’m always disgusted when people leave their toothbrush in the bathroom with no sort of protection or case.
@themplar3 жыл бұрын

Actually those scrap boards in between the studs is called fire stops they are use to strengthen the wall and if there's a fire inside the wall from the bottom side it's meant to cut off oxygen flow from the top side to slow the fire or stop it and in vice versa

Bet he doesn't know they are not necessary for interior partitions. Unless separating required firebreaks

@kylia20093 жыл бұрын
That was my first thought as well. It probably would’ve been less work since they wouldn’t have to move the toilet as far, repair the bed room closet, and they would get to keep the coat closet. But getting the powder room as far away from the kitchen as possible seems ideal.

I love how you just go for it. Last time I had to break through some plaster board/dry wall I made this tiny hole and slowly moved outwards. Just slamming a hammer through it looks so much more fun and, if I didn't have back issues, kicking through it and running at it would be awesome!!! Having said that, the first time I EVER saw a section of wall removed, it was only after the ceiling started bowing downwards that our boss looked up in the loft and realised that the main water tanks were above the missing wall!!!! 😳 It was his own property so meh 😂👍👍👍👍

Serious question… When you removed the top plate from wall the joists above we’re running perpendicular to the top plate. Is that not a load bearing wall? I thought if the top plate is parallel to the joists it’s not load bearing.
