Thank you Kelly and TEAM for always going out of the box to feature stories like this. This story is very close to home for me. I have no family, they have all passed and having recently lived on the streets in wonderful very unsafe Bogota and then having a few people finding the goodness in their hearts to give me a jacket, a pair of shoes and finally paying for me to live in a hostel for a week, which led to a job teaching English, a place to live and a few pesos in my pocket. I am not sure where I would be at this time. All this came about because I was robbed of everything including my passport and documents, it was not because it was where I wanted to be. To be like Pedro, feeling like no one is there, can you not see me, HELLO, I am here I am a human, can anyone just even give me a hug? This is not a place for anyone to be living in. Good job Randi! You rock!! Almost as much as Kelly, but I am sorry Kelly is and always will be my IDOL. Keep being human, you just never know how your act of human kindness will come back and give you a reward that you never saw or expected would come your way. Blessings you all. Pedro, study hard, the world needs people like you to care from the heart.

God bless you Pedro 💕 Part of me cringes everytime they say he is “intelligent” like it’s a HUGE SURPRISE, but then I have to remember that not everyone has the life experience to fully know and understand about how humans can end up homeless. I also was homeless in Boston for a short short time. I get angry when I hear them refer to him as some sort of different type of human like “you can ACTUALLY have a conversation, he’s ACTUALLY smart” but at the same time I am trying to understand why they are surprised and I am so thankful that the awareness is now being spread on this show. So thank you ! (Also I am not trying at all to put down this couple or anyone that has ever had similar thoughts. I think they did an amazing thing) God bless.

How do people end up homeless? And why won't a person reach out to family instead of living on the streets?
@sherongordon-dilnassa61933 жыл бұрын
@@pettc6757 sometime they mess up a lot and feel ashamed. They think their family members may be fed up with their behaviour, so after a time, they struggle to get their lives together and so.etimes things get from bad to worst. @Brandy D, as a former homeless person, my experience being homeless taught me a valuable lesson, anything can happen to anyone to put them in a homeless situation. In my case, it was a lost job, one paycheck that cost me everything. Most people dont realize how close they are to the abyss and only realize that they are staring into the abyss and even worse when you are staring into it, you dont realize that you have fallen into it. In my case, one paycheck, in other people's case it could be bills mounting up, in others it could be substance abuse, the reasons are many, just as the excuses we tell ourselves " he/she must have shot up their rent money" or " they are just looking for handouts" . these are the excuses you will see and hear on comment boards, coming from politicians, some religious leaders, these are the excuses we tell ourselves so when we do nothing to help people out, we can feel better about ourselves.

Kelly’s show is amazing for highlighting the generous hearts of normal every day marvellously kind human beings! Everyone needs, has needed or will need help sometime in their life. Whether it’s a smile to brighten their day or a help finding lost loved ones. Pedro shared his insecurities about recognizing his Uncle “because he had been gone so long” and wondering if he would be accepted back by his family. Not knowing that they had been looking for him for 20 years! They wanted him as much as he wanted them. Sadly, I think that is true in many situations where the ”missing” person is too scared of rejection to call home. Take the chance, call home! (Or help someone else to call home!)

Kelly. You are an inspiration to all. Jon and Randi ate the absolute best of the best people. That story hits home. I'm not here pedro was. But often have been in that situation. Family is truly important. And sometimes we do get lost. I struggle everyday to stay afloat. Pride sometimes gets in the way of us reaching out. But sometimes pride is all we have left. So we keep that close to us in order salvage what is left of your life. But I want to say this. I'm 61 years old. I have watched you rise to the level you are and have been a fan of you since your first audition on american idol. You are such a strong woman. I admire you tremendously. Your show is jus what I would expect of you. Showing how much you care about people. You have such a big heart. And you are not fake. I am very leary of trusting celebrities. But I do not look at you as a celebrity. I look at you as a down to earth person that truly cares. And it warms my heart. And I was also crying as the show aired from John and Randi and pedro. Please stay true to who you are , kelly..... Which I know you will. It's in your genes. God bless you. And in my eyes. YOU are a RAD HUMAN!!! Take care and please keep love in your ❤️❤️❤️

So wonderful that he’s reunited with his family! Those words are so true “I once was lost but now I’m found.” It’s mind boggling that a couple who didn’t have much themselves (since they went online to get help & were blown away by $3000) just took the time to listen and pay attention to this man, then did what they could to help & with that help got one person off the streets and into productive society. But then you look at someone like Jeff Bezos who is one of the richest people on earth (& according to his ex-wife, amazingly stingy) and all he is doing is piling up more wealth than he can use in probably 2 lifetimes. And what is he-or any other exceptionally wealthy person for that matter-doing with that money? What is he doing with it that he can look back at his life and say I made a difference there. And I’m not talking about providing jobs for people especially after hearing how he treats his employees. I shudder to think of the judgment that will befall him one day.
