Couple's First Reaction to IVE "Love Dive"

We have previously reacted to IVE with their songs "Eleven" and "Baddie" and now we're doing the song we were told made them very popular, "Love Dive". Where would we place this one among those three?

Sum chamgo Love Dive ( in English translates to Hold your breath, and go Love Dive). Love Dive until now is actually my favorite song from IVE. This song had everyone in a trance and literally was playing everywhere. Like no kpop stan could escape from IVE's LOVE DIVE era and its impacts. Love Dive was released as a single album in April of 2022. Love Dive can be defined as a pop song with an intense hypnotic type of vibe. The “la la la la la la” part is what feels very dreamy for many. Love Dive debuted at #1 on South Korea’s Albums chart which btw IVE are extremely popular in South Korea. Additionally, there is actually a split between DIVES (their fandom) and general listeners who prefer one song over the other but I think statistically Love Dive was more popular than Eleven bc I think Love Dive won more prestigious awards and was more notable for them as a group. But even still, Eleven being their debut has IMMENSE impact as well, so def understand why you guys prefer Eleven !! Their accolades as reported mentions “Love Dive won 10 first place awards on South Korean music programs, triple crown (which means three back to back wins) on Inkigayo music show, and IVE became the only 4th gen group in Kpop-history to win a ROOKIE award and DAESANG (Grand prize) in the same year after 2ne1, Miss A, and Aespa.” Love Dive won awards like “Song of the year (Daesangs), Top 20 Songs of the Year (Overseas), Best Dance Performance, and etc. Also, the member with the short hair you mentioned that you like w/ attitude’s name is Gaeul. 7:06 My two biases in IVE are Yujin and Gaeul tbh. Or u could be talking about yujin, now I think about it cus in their other MV she had shorter hair for baddie. I saw that this is not really a love song, but it is based on the story of narcissus falling in love with his reflection in water and drowning. this explains the name - love dive, the lyrics in the chorus and also "a perfect sacrifice". this is definitely my fave ive song though:-)

Love Dive is titled as KPOP Song of the year in 2022 and they did that on their rookie era which is insane :). Next u should react *After Like* (Newyears Kpop anthem song), *Kitsch* (which is Baddie's lil sister), and *I AM* (My favorite one and a perfect-sample of song)

Like you guys said IVE is versatile and every song is different even Bsides are dope, which makes them appealing to all generations. I never get tired of listening to their playlist due to different genres they do. Baddie is one of my favourites too. Cant wait for the next IVE reaction. Cheers!

Eleven and Love Dive were both comebacks that I added to my playlist, they were good in a shuffle but didn’t fully pull me in. After Like was their first release that really caught my attention and I chose to seek it out several times. Also the MV is really interesting visually. I agree that Baddie probably is my favorite track currently, hopefully they try that edge again in the future.

They were debut when they were 14-19 years old in 2021!❤ But Wonyoung and Yujin were debut before that in a survival project (temporary group) in 2018! I hope you would check out all their songs!❤ Love Dive and I AM won song of the year continuously 2 year after a year debut! And they came from a medium company, not Big 3 or HYBE!❤

I'm a fairly casual fan of IVE, and Love Dive came out before I had really heard of them. But it was impossible to not hear about them after it came out, because it was like a black hole on the charts, blocking out any song anyone else released for months. It was very easily the song of 2022 in Korea. It's a shame you both aren't as fond of it. Eleven and Love Dive are definitely more representative of their typical sound than Baddie, which went against the grain for them and wasn't received quite as well as their past releases. Which probably isn't the best news if you're looking for more Baddie, either in their existing or future discography. That said, Love Dive and its ilk could grow on you. Generally in kpop the slower songs aren't as suited to eyecatching mv's and first impressions, but for me they tend to be the ones that stick on my playlists and win the long game.

I heard this song playing at a Target in southern Illinois the other day. And recently, I heard Fifty Fifty’s Cupid song playing at Walmart. Goes to show that K-pop has become so popular enough in the United States that even major chain retailers like Walmart and Target can’t ignore it anymore. Also makes sense that if they played K-pop songs in American department stores that they would choose the more “laid back” songs conducive for shopping.

I remember this from about two years ago. I listened to their first six mini albums. Each of them has two songs each. Poor value for money when each album would cost around £30 plus each. Looking now they have a mini album containing more song plus a full album. I liked it as no rapping or hip hop running through it. Their third song "After Like" has a sampling of a famous song that even Mrs Coach should know. The name IVE is short for I have.

I actually quite enjoyed this one. The chorus grew on me during the song so I was boping by the end. Probably won't seek it out, but if it shows up on a playlist I'll absolutely let it run. Yukina lead/harsh and Matsuri guitar/clean might be thought of... What if Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer (the lead singer) was in fact two people?
