Connor and Lauren, I had another question if you don't mind. When it comes to personalization, do you think t shirts and sweatshirts are the way to go, or do you think personalization suits other products better, and if yes, which products would you recommend on Printify for this?

Great question! I would probably put shirts and sweatshirts closer to the bottom of the list. Products like mugs, tumblers, ornaments, blankets, onesies, phone cases, ect pair great with personalization.

Bothers me a little bit because I am more of a handmade type of seller. I just think this whole print on demand takes the Etsy handmade to a different level. Where it’s disconnected with the seller.

You have to apply to work with inner circle prints and the currently only work with 50 sellers, so unless you’re selling like crazy I’m sure you’re wasting your time. Also, you can’t click on the products (which are only tumblers and ornaments) to see more info. So people like me, who’ve worked their rear off for 6 months and only had 10 sales are at a dead end once more.

This is not true! There are 150+ active sellers right now and Inner Circle Prints is actively accepting new sellers each day. Tumblers, ornaments, and jewelry products are the products currently available!

Did I miss something, because I did not heat anything about how he marketed, Etsy Ads, is he selling in different countries. Even if you don't give up the shop name, adding value means more than tumblers, artwork, sweatshirts - common knowledge. I give the interviewees a C- for information transmission, and an A+ for succeeding.

Thanks for watching! We couldn’t fit all those details into a short interview but for anyone else wondering: All of our traffic comes from leveraging search volume on Etsy. Jesse explains this in detail in his course. We absolutely use Etsy ads but don’t use any social media to drive traffic. We also only sell in the US!

Connor and Lauren, can you give a rough estimate of how much one would have to have available on their credit card to keep up with the sales for your first successful year selling t shirts and sweatshirts? I am more scared of fast success than slow sales because of this. I am always amazed at how anyone handles the upfront Printify costs before they will even begin to fulfil orders. Thank you so much for sharing.

Yes of course! POD allows you to start your business with very little up front costs. We actually don’t use credit cards at all and just run our business on a debit card (shout out to Dave Ramsey). Inner Circle and Printify have wallet features which allow you to build up your “wallet” leading up to peak seasons. We have had daily limit issues when we first saw big months but the wallet feature solves that problem and it’s honestly a good problem to have! I wouldn’t worry about it when you are just getting started. It’s unlikely that you’ll have massive success overnight where you can’t afford the cost of your items. Overtime you’ll build up enough capital to comfortably run your POD business.
