I've followed you since your earliest days, and I am so impressed by how much you've accomplished. Your determination and ability to move forward after significant challenges is what impresses me the most. Your relationship with each other is heartwarming. My dad is a retired preacher, and one of his sermons was that if you wanted to plow a straight row, you couldn't look at the ground in front of you. If you did, you would plow a crooked row every time. But if you focused on a point at the end of the row where you wanted to be, and you never took your eye off that goal, you would plow a straight row every time. You're plowing straight rows in life. Wishing you all the best for this growing season and many more.

I have watched Casey and Tori (George) on their YT channel and have enjoyed getting to know their work and dedication to what it takes to make it all work. They're a great couple who seem to truly love what they do and I like how they don't look back...just keep moving forward while learning from their hands-on experiences. Great job...happy for you and proud of you for what you have accomplished and simply for who you are.

My little backyard vegetable garden is thriving here in Australia & I have just started my seeds so here I go for another adventure. Our extreme heat & humidity has caused some big problems but I will never give up even at 71 yrs old. Cheers Denise- Australia

After growing my own garden and seeing how much I had to grow just to feed my family it cleared my brain of any ideas of ever running a market garden. Maybe once the kids are gone and I then want to be busy non-stop for low pay..... but no. There is a reason all the other gardeners sell books, courses, and consultations. Everyone needs to start growing their own food and then maybe they will be willing to pay real prices for what they need from farmers.

@@Boringcountrylife I am a computational biologist but I do market gardening as a side hustle. It is way too much work for the amount of money you get back. I have 100 acres but only probably a quarter acre in production. I have a tractor and all the equipment that I inherited from a relative who was a professional farmer (unlike this couple). If I were going to scale up I would do a minimum of 50 acres and pay people to do all the harvesting. I've looked into it and the money just isn't there. Market gardening is a meme that cannot die fast enough. I

Ask for help? I about fell out of my seat laughing. Then I thought about crying. We have reached out to nearly 50 farms. All over the U.S., and yes including the ones within a short drive from us. People that claim to be homesteaders, farmers, farmsteads, market gardeners, milk farms, meat farms, you name, we have asked. We have offered tons of free labor, to include paying all these people a generous sum of money. Then to top it off I personally have offered my skills as a carpenter for in and up to two weeks, for free at no additional cost to them. If they would simply let us come and meet them, talk to them, ask questions and all the above aforementioned package deal. We have asked KZbinrs and the like. Only to be met with silence. So NO, asking for help is kind of a joke. And all we have ever asked is to show us something, anything. Trim a tomato plant, clip chicken wings, what they companion plant. It goes as far as just wanting to meet people. In our local and not so local community. We have only been met with silence. Or they point in two different directions except for themselves. Attempting to offer help. Angry? NOPE. Mad? NOPE. Frustrated? YEP. Discouraged? YEP. Disappointed? ABSOLUTELY! We have been to 2 homesteaders festivals. One at Rory Feeks and the other one in Virginia. We will never waste our money or time again at those places. Those people were nothing more than an overpaid, glorified cheerleader.. But the second you ask to come see them, to talk, to learn something, anything. They were like cockroaches when the lights came on. Have you read this book, or that book. Or have you watched this video? Yes, to all. That is why I am standing in front of you, and you and you asking for help. Not everyone learns from books or videos. Remember that. There are such things called learning disabilities. One of which I have, that plays an instrumental part of how I learn. Remember that the next time someone comes and asks you personally for help. Consider why they are asking. The answer is not always that simple

I do this on a small scale. I, like you, have asked for help, but found none locally. Although the SC dept of AG is in my county,it has little resource to help me.They are set for the large commercial farmer. So far, I have been met with blank stares. I think it's that I am not in the clique. I even went to see these very same people in this video about 19 months ago or so. I could not even find their farm in the small town. Knowbody knew who they are. I have made many mistakes so far, and I still own a resturant and a HVAC business to cash flow the project. My plan is to quit HVAC and stay here on my small 7 acre farm. I'll get there eventually and maybe knock a door or two down in the process.

@@janew5351 one of "those" people, already commented. Wasn't to what I said.... But they did comment. I was,...... Almost in shock when at the festival, I saw long lines, cardboard cutouts of themselves, people snappin pics, signing autographs. And when I asked them the things I stated before, mad scramble. They had every answer but what I was looking for. That.... That was when I was shocked. These were the people that I thought were "experts". Shame on me. I wasn't star struck. I literally went there to see if these people that I had bought their book, followed them on KZbin, yadda yadda yadda. How was I to know? I felt I had been duped. Again, shame on me. What really surprised me, wait for it. I heard them preach, COMMUNITY, COMMUNITY, COMMUNITY! What I didn't hear? Their silent whisper, " just not mine" All of these same people, that I had seen in multiple videos, all hangin, all preaching community, that we loved to help others, that's why we are here, being treated like celebrities. It was a joke. It was an absolute joke. A lie. And yet, I watch these people be celebrated as if, somehow this clique had somehow cracked the code to farming. Now, I don't believe if you met me, that you would consider me to be stupid, slow or something else. I just don't learn the ways these people think that everyone thinks and learns. But I absolutely come to terms with it. You mark my words. We are here to change the game of this false homesteading phenomenon that so many people have signed on for. I know I can't be the only person who has felt this. In fact we hope to change the game so much so, that it forces each and everyone of them to change their tactics. Because I know this to be certain. Word will get around. When they come knocking for an interview, or a video or a visit. The question I will ask them is, Why Now? This is not out of being vindictive, or spite. Just simply removed the times when I did reach out and they said no. These people know exactly who they are. That we, never say no. Again, not mad or upset. Like the video above. It makes me smile when I see somebody, someone go do it and make it work. I applaud them. They are the exception not the rule.
