Ellen and William Craft escaped slavery in the U.S. in the mid-1800s. They fled to London where they worked as abolitionists and champions of other social justice causes. Their home in London is being commemorated with a blue plaque. CBS News foreign correspondent Imtiaz Tyab joined CBSN to share their story.

I knew the story of the Crafts escape, what a genuis in planning and using the social system against itself. I did not know the entire story, and I am thankful for this news story. This would make sense to have a movie made about their whole story, including their coming back to the USA after the Civil War! Fantastic! Who will do the movie? We need a movie, the Crafts deserve a movie! Thank you UK for honoring these brave heros.

It was not that easy. You can free the slaves legally, but the prejudice survived until nowadays

@@rocioaguilera3555 That's crazy cuz slavery was 85 years total it didn't ramp up till the last 40 and then it was 150 plus years ago. Before Africans from Africa came here they were free so where is this 500 years of savory at

@@OscarTheScrapper Are you suggesting that slavery in the US lasted 85 years? I certainly hope not! Last I checked, 1619 - 1865 was definitely more than 85 years. Ijs.

Matter of fact. Stop using a FAKE alias identity, and pretending to be a Black person when you comment online, so you can discredit Blacks without being caught. Show us proof that you're not a coward, by actually using your REAL identity, you dork.
