When babies come along your marriage gets swept up with the kids, and the feeling of guilt leaving them behind, does come up. I am happy that you all can recognize this early, and try to work at it. My babies are now 12 and 9 years old. The second born does cause a shift in the relationship again. Now you have 2 kids. It is normal that you feel what you are feeling. I am happy that you are talking about it honestly and openly to each other. It takes time, to find your rhythm as a couple. Stay open to communicating with each other, steal the moments you find and acknowledge sometimes the only time you may have may the few hours in bed. Hang in there. If you make it through this, your relationship will survive. Ours are now 12 and 9 and we now have a lot of time. The younger they are, the less time you have as a couple.

Time management is very important in everything u do, quality time that's the key. Don't use the excuse of having kids, we need to better manage our time. Make a list of what u did for that day and see if u could have made use of your time better. I know things can happen to interrupt those plans and especially having kids but I think the number one mistake we make is centering our life around our kids. The relationship between husband and wife is very important, remember your children are watching you and they will mimick u. Loving and tender expressions with each other is vital and it will trickle down to your children. Also as u stated one on one time with each child is very important, something as simple as reading a book together or going for a short stroll. When it's bedtime for the kids use that time after there sleeping for each other and individually to yourself to unwind and get your own thoughts together.
