So happy to have you guys back! Thank you for sharing your story about experiencing loss during the holiday. As someone who just experienced a loss a week before Christmas it’s nice to hear other people talk about that reality as well. On another note, I’d love the see the cabin content in its own series on your channel. I LOVE the daily vlogs and feel like that content would get pushed aside if the cabin was combined in those. Love y’all ❤️

Traveling with a toddler is a lot of work! My husband and I were saying that our son was so much easier to take care of before he started walking.. then watch out, it’s a whole different ball park! On the move constant and wiggly and have to keep entertained all the time. I agree with Julia wait til Smoke is a bit older to travel for long periods of time. It will be easier and less stressful on the two of you.

I’m sorry for your loss. Hope you guys all can get some good sleep now that you’re back home. Life is a stress bomb filled with glitter and sparkles for sure. You just need to enjoy the best parts and try to let go of the rough stuff. Sometimes the things we think are rough aren’t nearly as bad as we think. As long as you have your love and health those are the main things to be grateful for.

my (unsolicited) advice would be to move around while the kids are still young. As a parent I definitely felt more “stuck” once my kids had sports, friends, etc. Homes and everything else are harder to part with when they become a part of your babies childhood. If you plan on staying somewhere for 10yrs, I’d say start that journey when the kids are older and coming into their own. That when the stability will matter most. When they’re little they‘ll go with the flow. Traveling will become the norm to them if you introduce it young. It can definitely be stressful, but it’s do-able and worth the memories

The hardest part about traveling to Europe with a ~1 year old is packing. You have to bring SO many things “just in case”, clothing layers, medications, food etc.. it can be difficult to get items you forget for various reasons. Also, transportation can be challenging too. Always having to hang on to a car seat if you use taxis, or find parking if you rent a vehicle. If you use public transportation, then you can use a stroller (but lots of walking plazas are tough on strollers with uneven walkways and stone grounds etc.. also lots of stairs with no elevator). You can definitely use a carrier, but some kiddos aren’t into that. It’s a lot of work! And at that age, the kids don’t remember the trip, but as parents, you definitely will! It’s an adventure 😊

I've followed y'all for 7ish years now, and I honestly think incorporating renovation content into your usual style vlogs would be ideal, because a lot of the appeal comes from context. Your strength as a channel is how varied your lifestyle is and how that fits together. For example, when you would go to Paris and show you buying things at the antique markets, and then a few vlogs later, you would show that item being incorporated into your home. That's far more engaging than a vlog showing you buying all the items of furniture in Paris and showing you styling them in Nashville in the same vlog. The mix of different activities makes your vlogs like a good plate of different foods that keeps you engaged, if that makes sense. 🤍

The strict question really resonated with me- I have two boys 15/18. I yelled at them maybe 4x their entire life. I believe in setting boundaries, limits. I always would kneel to their level and talk to them about what they did wrong. They knew when they could push the limit with me and when I had the tone of don’t you dare even think about doing that. I always wanted them to come to me and let me know what was going on in their life. Parents that yell and have so many rules IMO could create kids that rebel. Setting strict boundaries is extremely important but constantly bitching can maybe backfire. Don’t get me wrong I had crazy come out a few times but it’s finding that balance. Y’all will be fine!! Just my two cents. :)

The ONE piece of advice I would give you is be STERN THE FIRST TIME when you’re setting ground rules! Not yell, but in a stern “I mean business” voice. The sad face will CRUSH you but I promise you it will be worth it. Parents make the mistake of repeating themselves therefore not creating boundaries and respect and then the kid will push until the “Stop” turns into anger and that’s not good for anyone. I’ve never had to spank my daughter, I don’t believe that you have to, if you set the tone young. Anyway… you guys are amazing parents full of love and I think you’re doing great!
