You asked for the chance in 5:24 here you get it. Chance for getting 8/29 blaze rates or worse (cumulated over number of kills): 0.627% or 1 in 159 (same as in my notes for this run) Chance for getting 3/4 eye breaks or worse (cumulated over number of eye breaks: 2.72% or 1 in 37 Combined that makes a 0.01706% or 1 in 5,863. So whoever wrote the chances in that video might be a little off...

The chances in the video are quite wrong, though you are too. You were looking for "x rates OR WORSE" when that's not how people do probabilities of individual events, though you didn't do that right either. The probability of AN EVENT. Not "event or worse": Chance of 8/29 blaze rods: 0.799% Chance of 3/4 breaks: 2.56% Chance of both: 0.02045% If you do "event or worse" the odds should be higher not lower like in your calculations. The formula for both is quite simple, so I can explain in detail if you want.

@@TermoPlays You probably mean the blaze rates. This is not classic cumulated binomial distribution over the number of rods (k) but instead over the number of blazes killed (n). Couri always leaves on the 8th blaze rod so that last rod drop is set to be on the last killed blaze which converts the binomial coefficient to nCr(n-1,k-1) and not nCr(n,k). So the formula for 'k/n blaze rates or worse' is getting modified to 0.5^k * sum(N=n, infinity, nCr(N-1,k-1)*0.5^(N-k)) For n = k we get 1 so this defines a probability. The eye breaks are standard cumulative binomial distribution though.

An SSV fastion ruined by less than 20 obby in chests + trades and historically bad blaze rates. It’s always something in no reset. This seed isn’t actually that insane in standard speedrunning the overworld was an instant reset and no way the fastion was close enough to spawn. But hey, fashions can technically happen anywhere in the near infinite nether and yet look how rare it is.
