I'm not bragging, just giving an example as to my character. Yet I have also sat where that man was sitting, in front of a judge and being criminally charged. First offense was simple battery when I was 18 after I had finally gotten tired of a guy who was bullying me for over a year straight and put an end to it by beating him hard enough that he would never forget. Second offense was underage possession of alcohol after I had gotten jumped by a drunk shop owner and his friends a month later while walking on my way home. Cops got called after I defended myself and instead of the guys who attacked me going to jail I went to jail because I had drunk a beer earlier in the evening with my family. Funny if you're getting 120 years but the judge still things he can intimidate you with a contemp of court charge.
@reminiscer152 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think it's silly, imagine you live out your 120 years sentence and then the judge at that time is like, "Well 120 years ago you were charged with contempt of court so you must serve another 60 days." I think it's stupid to tack on extra time when someone is clearly already never ever getting out.

It's actually funny. The judge thought he could play tough guy and let his ego run about. But it didn't work out that way. He thought "I'm a judge, he didn't graduate high school, so I'll be able to out smart him in verbal jousting, and look clever." This man should not be a judge. It isn't his role to do this. We've all seen plenty of judges on KZbin now, and the good ones do not need to display their ego like this.

2:14 bye bye? That's was totally disrespectful. Denver Police forbid me not to do any action?! That was definitely what disrespectful and was a threat is the judges fault does Haitian that first said no Hastings I said no but the just kept provoking him
@capisenior4 жыл бұрын
The judge was a fool. The guy shot a police officer... He knew very well he had absolutely no chance of not getting the maximum sentence, therefore, he obviously didn't had much to lose. It was obvious he would go down shooting.
@reminiscer152 жыл бұрын
I agree, the judge let his emotions get the better of him and the convict was enjoying it. Basically it was the same thing as when students may purposely agitate teachers and the teacher's reaction makes the students continue their behavior, some people thrive off of seeing someone get mad so it's best to not show your annoyance regardless of what career field you're in.

Defendant had nothing to lose at this point already. He's already going to serve up to 120 years in prison. What's the judge going to do? Sentence him to 5000 years in prison? The thing is the judge was the one who instigated the whole thing in the first place, and it backfired in the end.
@khigh60834 жыл бұрын
He’ll only serve about 35 years, an inmates life expectancy in prison is 66 years old.
@BackTheBlueTillItHappensToYou4 жыл бұрын
Regardless of what the defendant did, the judge can't provoke someone and be a douchebag and then hold someone in contempt for responding identically. The judge should be equally and contempt of court for this.

The judge really didn't blow up- he didn't even gag him on the contempt. I mean the "bye bye" was silly... but there are judges that go on and on and don't even get investigated.
