Feds should make it mandatory for cops who are convicted of assault on a civilian be locked up for 3-7 years in federal lockup. Make them a felon when they get out. And put an end to this b/s about suspended with pay,folks that a freaking vacation. Sitting there with that look of shame. Simply disgusting.

@@Excitable101 When they resign from their job's because they have assaulted a suspect, killing unarmed people, or for any other crime that they have committed should be automatically arrested they are no longer a cop and therefore they don't have the privilege of the police department back then up. @jcmate16922 жыл бұрын
All cops should be made to take out and pay for their own public liability insurance. This insurance should be set up through their retirement fund they pay their premiums in each month that boosts their retirement plan but when a lawsuit has been filed and the plaintiff has won a compensation settlement that settlement comes straight from their retirement fund. Lets see how many cops read the constitution then, lets see how many cops make calls to a public prosecutor to get advice before they go ahead and arrest someone, Lets see how many thin blue line gang members stands back and watches while a college bash or violate someone's rights they'll be in there like a football scrum. Qualified immunity gets scrapped, The 3 strikes rule applies and your out. Any compensation settlement over $250.000 your out, No insurance no job, A separate entity gets setup to investigation police complaints and corruptions, Cops cannot resign if they're under investigation, Once under investigation their not sent home on paid leave they get put on office duties having no contact with the public.If all these changes were put in place in 12 months you would only need 3/4 of the force

Gang mentality and mob mentality are two problems that I've seen police officers act out of in so many of the thousands of videos that I've seen over the past fourteen years or more. If some form of collective guilt can be applied to police officers who arrive on scene and act unreasonably towards a member of the public without confirming the legality of the action, in the same way that felony murder applies to every member of a bank robbery crew, etc. I would be happy with that. Police officers are uniformed, armed, and licenced to visit extreme violence, up to and including death, on members of the public; therefore the standards by which they work and the standards by which they are investigated and prosecuted must be much higher than those that the general public are held to. Police tokenism occurs way too often, too, as in this case.

Jaywalking laws were created to PROTECT the pedestrian, but these low quality cops use it as a weapon against pedestrians..... The nationwide implementation of the body cams was all just to pacify the people. Lul them to sleep about their legitimate complaints about how law enforcement really is. They will never care and they will never call up footage when a civilian wants it. Not without going to the chopping block 1st. Judges like to use the whole "I see no reason for the court to see or accept this evidence into record". Again, they consistently show that the justice system is all for show. Down to the bones of it, phony garbage. Because a judge may not see reason for the solid evidence but you know civilians do and it gets swept under a rug because they have a badge. Think of cops like the fingers of a judge. So of course they aren't gonna help citizens put the pigs in their place. They're part of the same functioning organism. Like a person and his fingers.

@chuckhaugan49705 жыл бұрын
Another case where people are losing faith in the police and legal system. If this were a "gang" all involved would be charged and convicted. But with the police, well now, we need to carve up the video, because we civilians can't trust what our eyes and ears have witnessed. All gang members involved would be behind bars, simply because they are in a gang. I count three cops who engaged in the excitement of being in a gang and terrorizing a non gang member..... Nothing more than the Crips or Bloods messing with a civilian because who's going to stop them? The cop demanded ID without explanation and the other two fed into his outrage of a citizen exorcising his rights, so they beat him down. Nothing more than gang members drawing the lines of their turf. It really is that simple. A professional officer would ask, and explain before cuffing. It's BS that the legal system doesn't recognize the GANG they are complicit in creating. Sick.

Purely ignorant statement. I'm a civil servant. One member of my group was told by non union supervisor to remove asbestos or go home. If there was no union, he would've lost his job or been suspended until an investigation was done. Our union has protected many members from tyrannical non union administration. The union negotiates a fair contract. Civil administration (non union) is just as guilty of taking advantage of their perceived power as a privately run business. Don't confuse the police power trip of protection with the average union policies. Yes unions can be corrupted. I've seen it being a member of the same union when I worked private and civil service as the union represented both. Unions overall protect workers and enforce safe and fair work environments. Many non union jobs have safety and wage standards due to union interventions.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - A man who was injured by Rochester police during an arrest in 2018 is now accused of assaulting a woman who later died. Christopher Pate, 43, and Jennifer Shea, 44, were arraigned and pleaded not guilty on Friday to charges of second-degree assault, second-degree robbery and first-degree burglary. Police say around 1:30 a.m. on April 7, Pate and Shea attacked Alicia Saladyga, 51, on Mt. Read Boulevard and took property from her hotel room. Saladyga was seriously hurt and died two weeks later at the hospital, according to authorities. Investigators say they are waiting on the results of an autopsy to determine whether Saladyga's death will be ruled a criminal homicide. Depending on the determination from the medical examiner, additional charges may be presented to a grand jury. According to police, both Pate and Shea were also involved in a separate incident in October in which they allegedly attacked a man with a razor blade and a hammer. They were out on bail when investigators say the assault on Saladyga took place. Pate became known publicly after he filed a civil lawsuit against the city and the officers involved in his arrest in 2018. He was seriously hurt being taken into custody when police mistakenly identified him as a burglary suspect. Michael Sippel, one of the arresting officers, was later convicted of misdemeanor assault and lost his job with the department. That suit has yet to be resolved.
