This song makes me cry, because it was popular when my parents divorced and my dad left us and we barely saw him, to this day I have to make the effort to see him to have a relationship, I remember sitting and looking out the window waiting on him and he never came. Divorce just doesn't affect the married couple, but the innocent lives you are supposed to be there for when they need you the most.

To LeAndria Starr, I agree with you. My youngest son tried to mend my marriage by making a candlelit dinner, complete with dessert. But to no avail, my ex-wife wanted it to end. Children hurt the most when it comes to divorces.

I have been asked to learn this song for a gig this weekend, Sat 12th Feb - bass part. I remember the song from the 70s. I see that there are 47 cover versions listed by google! I thought that Anne Murray had done a version, but she is not mentioned in that list. I googled her discography, but I find no mention of it. So are the google results incomplete, or do I have a false memory? I'd have taken a reasonable bet that Anne Murray did this song - and I'm not a betting man! Please, somebody tell me that I'm not mistaken!
