I love how the house is progressing. I would do some kind of color for the backsplash. You have white cabinets, white sink, white countertop. Even if you did a light grey marble tile it would really pop and give some character. Also I have 5 boys and those toilets look like a game changer! I think for resale double sinks is better.

In my house, most times my shoes are off but when people come over, I want them to feel at home so it's their choice if they want to leave their shoes on or take them off. As for the fridge, I would definitely do the french doors with lower freezer.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. In regards to the chandelier you can always spray paint it maybe a bronze or black and then use in a spare bedroom. As to your appliances go with the double oven and the French refrigerator with double doors to open freezer on bottom; that way if you're having a lot of family or friends over you'll have plenty of room for preparation and storage as well as cooking.

I would love to see a pop of color in the rooms since everything is a base white or off white color so far!! Color can really affect your moods and make a room pop! Everything looks wonderful so far.... I would not keep the chandelier from the kitchen but that is personal opinion

That's what I just commented about with the color. I work in a hospital where many of the rooms are just white everything. Having an all whitish decorum in a house gives it (dare I type it) and institutional feel. It will also be a nightmare in several months to keep an all whitish house clean. You will start to see the dirt everywhere--hahaha.

I’m sure that whatever you do in the house it’ll be lovely. Regarding the fridge, I think that you should measure the opening and get a sense for how far out the door(s) will swing. You don’t want the fridge door being open to prevent someone from coming through that opening. 8m sure that with the Bates’ handiness and your sense of design, you’ll figure it out. I say no to double oven. You have to get on the floor practically to use the bottom oven. I've had both types of refrigerators with the drawer in bottom. Love the bottom freezer. We end up opening both doors quite often so it didn't really save on air getting out. If you need it for space saving is nice otherwise one door is fine also. Unless you want water then two doors.

The house is looking terrific. Do you have a “finish” date? So my opinion,since you asked, is as follows: Keep the chandelier for sure and use it elsewhere…or store it for future changes. You can buff up that brass and change the bulbs and even get little lampshades (which is cute in a child’s room). Love the lighter floors. No shoes in the house. I think you need some color on your backsplash…there is so much white in your kitchen (and the entire house for that matter) I think it may be to sterile looking. I love a double oven but remember you won’t be able to put a large Turkey or sheet pan in it. Single ovens are a bit more flexible. The fridge: side by side doors are terrific IF you don’t have an inside divider. I learned the hard way that you can’t fit anything wide in one side of a split door fridge. I realized that when I purchased a half a sheet cake for my daughter’s bday and it wouldn’t fit 🤦‍♀️. I hope this helps. I’ve been married for 42 years now and these comments are from years of experience…and just my opinion. Sending blessings your way!

I LOVE the house!! The black & white theme is so pretty! Yes, double sinks are great for married people or you end up having to try to squeeze into the sink with her attempting to wash her face & him trying to shave!! Shoes off for the house!! Especially with a new flooring!! I wish I had paid a little more attention when my dad, who was an electrical engineer but could do anything from plumbing on, tried to show me how to do things like flooring etc. My dad put in the hard wood floors when they bought the brand new house. Then they covered the hard wood with wall to wall carpet 🤔 which I didn't know there was genuine wood under the rug until I was about 17!! But I love the look of the new "faux wood floors" so about 20 years ago, I ripped out the carpet of my house and put in the waterproof flooring like you got!! So easy to install!! You all are actually getting married on my husband birthday. Your home looks beautiful. You two will be so happy there. Everyone has their own taste as far as their home goes. I remember fixing up my first home. So much fun. The only thing is recommend is your mentioned the stove. I’d get just one door oven. Oh and be sure it’s self cleaning. I bought a new stove a couple years ago. Paid a lot of money for that thing…. And it’s not self cleaning. Not happy. Your refrigerator I’d stay away from side by side. They are worth it. Don’t hold nothing and once the kids start coming you’ll fill it up so quickly. Our new refrigerator is amazing. It’s side by side but has a freezer in the bottom. I absolutely love it. House looks great! Lowe's has so many cute/ nice light fixtures you should go see what appeals to you so you can toss the old low hanging light in your kitchen. Double ovens is great! BUT if it's not big enough to fit a large ham or 20 lb turkey inside without it being too close to the heating elements inside. Some don't leave enough room inside so you'll have to look and see how roomy the inside of the oven is. Otherwise double sinks in bathroom are always great. I personally don't have to share when I get ready bc the husband is on opposite schedule of me and our kids. We get ready in the morning for the day but when it's dinner time husband is up getting ready for work. Hopefully you two are never on opposite schedules bc it's extremely hard to navigate once you have kids.

I have a double oven, works great, today I had both going at different temperatures, one had bread in it and the upper oven had supper in it, works awesome! And the double oven has warm option so for thanksgiving dinner, we throw whatever is done cooking, in the lower oven and on the setting “warm” so it stays nice and warm..

Love the shower 🤩 Two-door fridge with freezer below 🤩 One-door oven definitely....🤩 Keep the chandelier....spray paint it black and place in the master bedroom..🤩 One tiny little thing..... rather put in a color backsplash. From personal experience, White-on-white in the kitchen tends to show all those dirty marks and the "imperfections". It is understandable to go all white if you folks are planning to sell the house and it is a classic. But if the little ones arrive - it becomes a reality check - forever cleaning!🥺☹️ God bless you both. 💖

Everything is looking great! I'd say....having tried both ways....Being just the 2 of you...shoes off if that's what you like. When you have company though...let them choose. For example...I have plantar fasciitis and CAN'T go without my special shoes. It's just too painful. Whenever I'd go to someone's house I'd have to bring my special orthotic slippers to wear. Another point...not everyone is comfortable sharing their bare feet or socks. You can always vacuum and mop after your guests leave. Either that...or provide a basket of slippers or those little slipovers that people can put over their shoes...for everyone to wear! LOL! Just my own humble opinions!!! You do you though!

That's a lot of ???'s....LOL! As for the fridge, the Freezer on the bottom is a "pain in the bottom''. The freezer gets congested so quickly with piles of frozen food. We find the double door (freezer on the left and fridge on the right) is easier for us. We also have the water and ice dispenser on the outside of the freezer door, but you need to hook it up to a water source. Hold onto the light for now. You can always paint it someday. You don't have to rehang it now, anyway. Just get it out of the kitchen. You can always hang it in the garage over the work bench.....LOL! For a touch of color in your kitchen, what do you think of the idea of the back splash in a pale, pastel color, such as pale blue or pale green? My long-COVID brain can't remember the rest.
