I was at Woodstock , Atlantic City rock festival & I was at Monterey rock and saw Janis Joplin., second time was at Atlantic City Rock Festival. Querky. Odd voice all over the place but such passion, energy and stage presence & lit that place up. Just like Courtney does. The buzz about Courtney is unreal. Good bad everyone talking about her. Once every 50-60 years you see what you do. Like a comet Courtney is. An event. You absolutely will not forget nor stop talking about here. No one in the history of AGT, and they have incredible acts, has lit up the internet like her. No one has more views. She is not of this era as Howie Mandel said during her audition. Courtney will become like the greats before her. R&R revival and she will be leading it.

I so agree. Alot of people also overlook the fact that hey she is only 14. She has that raw energy in her performance like Janis without all the drugs and pain .. at least i assume. she also has the moves. those have improved to like those James Brown shuffles. She is quirky in all the best ways to me. The rhythm of this original song ( which really it should have some radio play ) kind of reminds me of Outkast. I could see her doing a version of Hey YA and I bet it would be good.

She doesn't have to "win something" to win. A billion views? Fame that's based on talent, not appearance? A recording contract? An original album at age 14? A contract with Calvin Klein? A family that supports her and (hopefully) will do whatever it takes to keep her from becoming a member of the "27 club"? That's a lot of "somethings" and I don't see a thing wrong with any of them! Contests are quirky. If memory serves, Susan Boyle never won a contest in her life...but when she walked out onto the AGT-Champions stage, she was greeted like royalty!

Hi Petra, great reaction and singing on Your part! Courtney Hadwin was one of three acts the other two where Darci Lynne and Cristina Ramos who received the most votes by the (AGT Superfans) on episode 2 of The Champion. Courtney finish in third place so She did not advance into the finals. Have to say that I don't like the judging format this time around at all. I really can't understand why Ms Ramos came in above either Courtney or Darci Lynne. Having watched Cristina Ramos' audition on Spain's Got Talent I have to say that this performance was a serious letdown. Much of her appeal was the shock value of going from opera to hard rock and now that we know she's going to do it, that surprise is gone. And the transition this time wasn't as abrupt as her Spanish performance.

Sam, I think you are spot on. The judging format is horrible. This competition is supposed to be to find the best of the best, and AGT changes their format to something that is different and far inferior to what is used during a normal season. Here are my thoughts. - The judges should not have a Golden Buzzer. During a normal season, the Golden Buzzer is used during an audition round to move a performer to a Live round where they perform and have an opportunity to be voted (by the American public) on to subsequent rounds and ultimately the finals. In Champions, these are not auditions. These are established acts and the judges are essentially getting 50% of the decision making on who goes on to the finals. This gives the judges way too much say in the process. - The other 50% of the vote is done by "Superfans". There are 50 in total, one for each of the 50 states. AGT has not disclosed how these fans were chosen or how they vote. 50 total votes is in no way representative as to how the actual voting public may have voted if they were given the chance. The mystery surrounding this proxy of actual fan voting, leaves AGT open to a lot of suspicion on how real the voting is. This does not seem to be a good way to choose your ultimate champion. Sam points out that in episode 2, Courtney, Darci and Cristina finished in the top 3. Heidi Klum had used her Golden Buzzer on a knife throwing act. While Cristina's act did have the wow factor, I do believe that both Courtney and Darci performed better. I am familiar with Cristina and have followed her for a while. I did not think this was one of her best performances. If you are trying to showcase the best of the best, you want to make sure you get your best and most popular performers to the finals. In the American market, this would include Courtney and Darci. For both of them to miss the finals highlights the shortcomings of this judging system. To put this another way, there are only 4 performers who have more than 50 million views on their AGT audition videos. This is using the America's Got Talent KZbin channel, not counting other channels. 2 of those 4 performers will not be in the finals (barring a wildcard) and it can be argued that it was as a direct result of a flawed voting system. If this is my show, I want the best perfomances of the night to be included in the finals and I want the most popular performers there as well. In both cases, I believe this was Courtney and Darci. Of course, as with anything of this nature, it is very subjective and opinions will vary. In case anyone is wondering, the 4 most viewed audition videos on the AGT KZbin channel are Grace Vanderwaal (92.1 million), Kenichi Ebini (81.4 million), Darci Lynn (53.8 million), and Courney Hadwin (53.8 million).

I would just like to add that by Heidi not rightfully giving the Golden Buzzer to Courtney, or alternatively to Darci earlier, the two talented teenagers split their votes. So instead of both girls going through Ramos moves on as a fluke. That said I have a background in U.S. television and fully believe there was some pre-planning in place. Not giving Courtney's magnificent mini-concert a Golden Buzzer was beyond preposterous. Courtney's so fantastic I felt emotion like Petra. Two episodes later and I've not watched the show since. Given my background I actually felt embarrassment for AGT -- especially for Heidi.

2 more thoughts on this: I am happy to hear that Darci got one of the Wild Cards, but Jon Dorenbos??? I like Jon. He is a good magician and a good entertainer, however, Courtney is one of the most viral stars to come out of the show in years and had a show stopping performance as seen in the video above! People were talking about Courtney. People were making videos about Courtney. Nobody was talking and making videos about Jon. Courtney has the 4th most watched audition in the history of AGT and one of the best performances of the Champions series and she will be sitting on the sidelines. IMO, this does not happen if the voting was handled correctly. There are 50 "Superfans" in total. That means, that a contestant can technically win and go to the next round with only 7 votes! That is all it takes to be a finalist. After the Golden Buzzer, there are 9 contestants left. It is possible for the votes to be split as follows: 7 6 6 6 5 5 5 5 5. While that exact scenario may not have happened, it is quite likely that people went through with only 10 or 11 votes. The voting system for Champions is a complete joke! Also, also, Hi Petra. Congrats again. I hope you are feeling well. :)

This was the Golden buzzer performance. Someone was sleeping on the job. Doesn't really matter in the end. Courtney will be the one who's remembered for a long time to come. I also hit my golden buzzer for Petra's performance of "My Boy Lollipop", a song from way before her time(but not mine).

THANK YOU, PETRA! You are my favorite reactor, and you know I LOVE Courtney! This was a pleasant surprise since I did not know if you would react more to AGT for several reasons. I tear up when Courtney performs, too, almost like a proud father (but no relationship whatsoever) and then seeing your emotional reaction intensifies mine! Some things you may already know: These "Champions" shows were all pre-recorded, and the public had no chance to vote, very screwed up but entertaining. Just not a good indication of true popularity. Because of that weird copyright issue you missed the fantastic standing ovation Courtney got when she just walked on the stage and when she finished and a 3rd time when she answered Howie's question that it was an original song (maybe you did watch it?). Anyway, Courtney is unlikely to be on any future talent shows. She has a contract with Syco/Arista/Sony records and is currently working on her 1st album, probably most or all originals. She also has a style contract with Calvin Klein who outfits her and knows a good thing when he sees it! So she's doing just fine for a 14 year old; I doubt other contestants do as well! And I hope you do well, too. Ask your doctor about "10,000 lux Bright Light Therapy" if you are not already using it. Used daily, it often helps depression a lot, especially "seasonal" depression which is more common in the upper latitudes where you are. And there are no side effects on babies in the womb. When Courtney speaks, she appears meek, shy and bashful. But as soon as the music starts, OMG. She immediately takes on a serious attitude full of moxie and swagger. She then commands the stage with her movements and voice in a way that very few performers of any age have ever been able to muster. Then when you take into account her tender age, her performances become an amazing thing to behold. She has been gifted with the voice and also with the desire and determination to develop her skills to the highest possible level. Courtney is now the fourth teenage girl composer. The other three are Grace Vanderwaal who won AGT in 2017, Emily Bear who wrote a medley of the original music on her first record that on KZbin is entitled Emily Bear-Diversity Medley-47th Montreaux Jazz Festival and composer/violinist/pianist Alma Deutscher who has already written a violin concerto, a piano concerto and a 4 act opera entitled Cinderella with lyrics in both English and German. Wouldn't be surprised if this song becomes a chart-topper soon. It's really good. Grew up when Janis Joplin was huge and I can say that Courtney is a much more exciting performer (JJ couldn't dance). Classic R&B with her own unique contemporary twist! Pure genius.

I don't think she made it to the champions totally. But her style is so different that you know that Simon is just going to scoop her up and make her have the opportunity that Courtney needs. Probably Susan Boyle will win the champions and deservedly so. But Courtney is a piece of work and we love her

At the end of the day Courtney will get the last laugh for not winning season 13 nor AGT Champions 2. All on the show were great acts, but Courtney to me was by far the best performer. She's not destined for a Vegas strip show like many good acts are. She's destined for putting out songs & albums that chart and for putting on amazing concerts. All I can say is please PLEASE Courtney don't get trapped in the entertainment world and just be yourself.

Kk... wow... that was really good. I love that she has those James Brown style of quirky moves about her when she sings. I knew this would be the style of music she would sing when you said "Original song". I know from watching interviews with her she likes this style of music better than others. Not to say she does not like the other styles, just that she likes this style better.

Hi, Petra, it's nice to see you back in action! I'm a Courtney fan through and through and know she has a great career ahead of her. Like the rest of her fans and supporters, I was terribly disappointed with the outcome of last year's AGT competition. AGT-Champions is much tougher competition than a single GT season--everyone there is sufficiently talented to be a professional entertainer, and most, like Susan, have many years of pro experience to their credit. It was a major achievement for Courtney to land a spot in this competition, and she did a great performance. Nobody should complain about her losing to Cristina Ramos! Have you seen Cristina's performance of a chopped-down version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaHLqa1pipqGmLs)? She blew the roof off! Going back to her first audition for the 2016 season of Spain's Got Talent, Cristina's performance (kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6eZm5yni9Kgias) was a show-stopper. When she finished, the SGT judges were too stunned to speak! The world stage is plenty big enough for all the "GT champions" in this competition & I'm looking forward to many years of great entertainment from all of them.
