The little shy girl that so many of us saw for the first time on AGT is all grown up and is more powerful and beautiful than ever! Breakable and That Girl Don't Live Here are a couple of her recent releases. This song is so emotional, and she makes you feel every bit of it. Thanks so much for the great reaction and stay safe.

Love your reaction. I think the consensus is Courtney knew people would speculate what the song means and intended that. Some of us even speculated it's from the point of view of a person that died. Any which way, beautiful song by a beautiful young lady with an incredible voice. Thank you for this reaction. Liked and Subscribed.

Hi! Courtney is absolutely amazing. The best thing to happen to the music world in decades, if not forever. She is equally great in everything from Rock to R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads and there never is any loss to the incredible quality of her music. She even had an opera clip go viral on TikTok. 'Call Me Back' is sensational. I think it gets to everyone who hears it. The song itself is so raw and powerful and Courtney sings with so much passion that this goes straight to the heart. Then you add the intensity of this incredible video on top of it. If you don't feel the pain and anguish this song and video conveys, then you don't have a pulse. I don't know how many times I've listened and watched this so far, but even when I know what's coming, it doesn't get any easier. What Courtney can do both vocally and visually never ceases to amaze. BTW, I thought the ending with the phone ringing and Courtney answering was brilliant. It's left an open question as to who's on the other end, but it ends a song full of pain and angst with a feeling of hope for everyone that has just gone on this heavy emotional ride with Courtney . I think the two interpretations you had are what's come to the minds of most, but there is no definitive answer. It is left up to the listener to interpret the song in the way it means most to them. That in itself is genius. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Courtney has released two other originals this year, beside this one, that I see you haven't reacted to, with more to come. Both are incredible. One is a gorgeous gritty ballad (Breakable) and the other is an amazing uptempo, jazzy song with a touch of almost 1940's Swing ('That Girl Don't Live Here). Any one who knew Courtney only from AGT and view her only as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, these three originals should put that misconception to rest. You've got to hear these. During the COVID lockdowns she did a lot of live Q&A and covers, and as a result, many of us have been able to keep track of her through the years, and the developments she has been through. You should check out her quarantine cover What's Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner. There are another couple of independent songs she has released this year, Breakable and That Girl Don't Live Here. These show more sides to her, and the diverse genres she can sing. You could also watch her four Covers songs from her EP a couple of years ago [Old Town Road, Sucker, Sign of the Times, Someone You Loved] and her Christmas cover Merry Xmas The War Is Over, but you may need filters with these as they are still owned by the record label. The emotion is just so palpable in this video, so raw, I literally tear up every time. Many people keep comparing her to Janice Joplin, but she is so much more. There's elements of Tina Turner, Mick Jagger, Adele, Aretha Franklin,... and many others in her performances and vocal structures. With this song, for me, there is strong Meat Loaf vibes, especially from the 90s, with his songs I Will Do Anything For Love & Objects In The Rear View Mirror. The emotional impact of Objects is equally as strong as this one, but it is, like, three times longer. It shows how strong Courtney is in getting the to the emotional core of the song.

I have several theories as to the message of the song. A break up, Someone who has dies, She's a ghost trying to contact the living, a hostage/kidnapping situation, someone lost in the woods or out at sea, someone who has moved out of the country but they do not have Roaming services, someone imprisoned ... just off the top of my head, it could mean something different to each listener.

Courtney seems to leave a lot of ambiguity in her song writing. I don't know if she simply can't decide or if to her we all have to just wait it out as things have multiple possible realities, seemingly so uncertain, changing time to time.

That is the genius of her songs, the universality yet personal nature of the lyrics. As someone else said (I cannot remember who), "Play a song to 18,000 people, you have 18,000 interpretations or reactions to the song".

I think it's purposeful songwriting, probably enlarges relatability.
