Possibly the funniest chant I ever heard was in a Michigan vs Michigan State basketball rivalry back in the late 1980's... Michigan had a player named Rumeal Robinson who had to sit out a few games due to academics so during the next game instead of the normal "Go Green!", "Go White!" chant the students changed it to "Can't Read!", "Can't Write" when Robinson had the ball. It wasn't very nice but even as a Michigan fan I was dying. And we won the Championship that year too so it all worked out just fine. 🏆😂

Hi Courtney, in football the home team is called the 12th man, since there are only 11 players on a side, and in many cases it will make the difference in the outcome of the game. I would also like to say that high-school sports can be just as fun and draw in some really large crowds. Especially during the playoffs, some places have their final games in college stadiums just to fit all the fans. Americans love their sports.

At Kansas State they play the Wabash Cannonball because there was a fire before a game and it was the only piece of music that survived. It became a legacy fight song of sorts. And in the stands there is a coordinated forward and back alternating with your neighbor.

Texas A&M's stadium, Kyle Field, sways from side to side when they "saw varsity's horns off" as the fight song says. Might be mitigated now with the new configuration of 102,500+, but with the open-ended stadium they used to have that supported 89k, it literally swayed, noticeably, with the student body. Just awesome to experience.

The Kansas University basketball stadium also known as Allen Fieldhouse currently holds the World Record for the loudest indoor crowd roar recorded at 130.4 dB. Set in 2017. And the video here wasn't even the game where they set that record. It's hard to really gage that place on TV. But I've been in there a few times and when it gets loud you can't hear the person sitting next to you. If you look on KZbin there is video of the World Record broadcast. The University of Alabama clip (5:15 - 6:11) is all "Dixieland Delight" by Alabama. Around 5:53 it goes into the bridge portion of the song & 6:08 starts the fiddle/violin segment of the bridge, so everyone gets extra crazy. The Cubs clip (10:47 - 11:13) is the crowd singing "Go, Cubs, Go" by Steve Goodman. It's tradition to sing this following a Cubs win.

Also played NC State in 2012 when they had Mike Glennon and David Amerson. Even when we played BYU they were fringe top 25 and the QB for BYU in that game just went 2nd overall in the draft. Other SEC teams may not schedule tough OOC opponents but were the exception.
