I was told to use parchment paper for sublimation instead of Teflon because Teflon holds moisture.

The one question I have is about the feel of the shirt afterwards, you mentioned after spraying that there is a stiff feel to the shirt, does that stay the same after washing? Or does the image itself have a plastic feel to it afterwards from the spray?

I really appreciated this video, it has been a roller coaster. I have the Epson 2720 bought the sublimation ink and paper, and have the Royal Press, I bought the Sublimation coating. I was not air dying, using the heat press to dry. I also have yellowing on some and ink bled out blurring image. I did not set the settings for the printer for it to come out vibrant. Learning a lot! I am HAPPY to hear it works on Cotton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dark Colors and vinyl any videos?

I love Poly T (or any poly coatings) and being able to use it on lower poly count items…however, not being able to sub on cotton isn’t untrue. Technically, this method is subbing on the polyester coating, not the cotton shirt.

Keep in mind, the coating will wash out eventually and then the image will be subject to the usual cracking/fraying/what have you. Full House Fancies is right. This is a great solution but its not permanent, like proper dye sub is.

@@jcbuttons It can be done with a product called Fuze. But it will cost more to sublimate cotton, then the difference in polyester ever will. And yes, eventually you will lose the clarity of the design, but in 50 plus washes is still there looking retro.

I just visited their website and was going to purchase the sublimation solution 13x19 kit and was so surprised the shipping was $48.45. Do you know if this company is in Canada? You definitely sold me on the product, I would love to be able to sublimate on dark fabrics but geez. The kit is $149 plus the $48 in shipping, that's $200 for solution and the acrylic plate because that's all I need, honestly.

Hi Courtney. I just have a question. When I sublimate on cotton my shirt turns a little light brown like it’s almost burnt. I noticed on yours it looks like it has the same color. After it’s washed. Is that just the lighting or does it have a little to hint of brown on the white

spray peroxide after you press it, it will get rid of the scorching.

60 seconds might be too long. I was told by another company to use no more than 40 seconds. Since then I've done only 30-40 seconds and make sure not to get dirty too wet with the spray. I don't have any more issues with yellowing.

It looks like there is some yellowing outside the image where you sprayed. Perhaps you have something yellow underneath. If this is yellowing, I wonder how you could avoid it. Very interesting video, sublimating on cotton is great, opens many sources of revenue.

Unfortunately that is common with the sprays used on cotton shirts. I believe there are some work arounds, but in general the sprays are not the best on white cotton.

The only problem is the yellowing around the image from the the spray. I've been trying the polyacrylic you make and it still leaves the yellowing. I'd love to know if you've figured out how to get rid of that or prevent it from happening. Polyester shirts are expensive when you're trying to sell them. At least to me they are.

Yes, let me add. about the yellowing, temp must be 200 degree C or around 392 F for 20sec medium pressure. the secret is the high temp and short time. normal drying or heat pressing the tshirt after spraying at a high temp like 200 C, for 5s is best

I checked out the link for the bundle and for the FUZE spray. The spray is reasonable at aprox. $51for a litre but the company charges $31 for UPS ground shipping. So the Spray is over $90 after tax for 1Litre. THAT'S NUTS! $31 for UPS Ground?

WOW!!! Just happened to stumble upon your video and am in awe. I wish I had seen this prior to buying my 4760 a month ago, along with all of the other items needed to sublimate. I was going between getting the 2720 and so many others when the 15000 that I wanted was out of stock everywhere and no longer being made (so I was told). I am now shopping for a 16x24 heat press as the 15x15 I have had for 3 yrs just isn't cutting it for larger sub projects. Any suggestions? I am looking forward to more of your videos! YAY!!!

@lauralafferty2330 That's because in order for this to work she had to use the liquid in the spray bottle which is actually dtg pretreat. When you pretreat white shirts, if you don't control how much pretreat you put on the shirt, it can turn yellow. That's why calling this sublimation is kind of misleading

Mirror the image when using printer settings, check print preview so you can see it done before printing.
