Unbelievable athletes till middle school, and they just weren’t really interested anymore. They pushed back against the pressure of their parents. They grew out of it and just got into music and partying, or whatever.

Humble is the most important word. Kids these days are so cocky…and do not have the talent to show for it. This 3rd grader does, however. His parents must do what they can to make him realize that there is always someone better than him- though, at his age, that would be hard to find. Still…you can get someone older and just have him learn that this is life. There will be someone who is taller than him, stronger than him and better than him. It’s best to keep a level head and think of new ways to beat the taller, bigger people, that’s all- and stay humble. People will respect that even more.

AV is just telling the truth. I am 60 and played basketball in high school AND college- won awards in each. In high school, Mrs. LeClaire took me off the floor - and I didn’t know why. At halftime, she ripped me a new one in front of the whole team. Now, I was quiet and shy way back then, however, I was in a foul mood that day. Mrs. LeClaire was right…I was out of line and I should NOT be talking back to anyone like that, certainly not a referee. I was just so embarrassed- and I did learn a valuable lesson- and I have never forgotten about it. Kids these days- they don’t respect authority, do not respect others and do not respect anyone besides themselves. So, KingzFN, those kids who are playing at such a young age…they should be learning about RESPECT. They should be learning about helping out their teammates. They should also learn at that age, if you foul someone and they are really hurt, go over and make sure that they are okay. That shows your sportsmanship. Have respect for the other team…but, of course you want to win! You CAN do both. Lastly, don’t leave a flippant response to someone who is older and obviously wiser than you. Please show an elder respect. That IS the difference between your generation and his/hers. You had absolutely no problem disrespecting AV. Think before you speak/write a comment. Again, please show respect for your elders.

Honestly I was this kid. Got a big head start on advanced skills because I tried out for a junior Harlem globetrotter team in 2nd grade. Within a few months I could dribble through my legs, behind my back, spin the ball on my finger and keep it going as long as I wanted… bounce it off my knee, catch it with my finger and keep it spinning. I won all the shooting drills at all the high school and college basketball camps I went to. I went 9 for 11 from 3 when I was in 7th grade. But I was a late bloomer, late to hit puberty and when I did (like 7 inches in a year up to 6’1) it was like dribbling and shooting the ball were completely new to me. I was almost automatic from 3 from 3rd grade to freshman year. And I just couldn’t dribble or shoot the ball like I used to be able to. My body had to totally recalibrate and unfortunately before my junior season… when the skills were starting to come back and my athleticism really went to new level (Started to dunk it one handed on a good day), but I seriously broke my leg in a 4 wheeler accident. Multiple surgeries ending my basketball career. My point was actually that you can’t judge players at this age at all. It then I had to tell it all. Thanks if you actually took the time to read it…. Brings back good, and bad lol, memories writing about it.

The biggest issue here is how kids today behave. This is insanely terrible behaviour, and not normal for a kid this age. We need to teach our kids to have humility and not think too highly of themselves. This is key, otherwise when life’s inevitable troubles come their way, they won’t be able to handle it. Don’t tolerate young kids showboating, taunting, disrespecting their opponents, and making fools of themselves in public.

This is what companies use to make their article "clickbait." 1. Everything in ALL-CAPS. 2. Exclamation points after everything, sometimes two exclamation points in a row. 3.Headlines in bold print. Headlines in black print. 4.Deciding for the reader what the appropriate reaction to the player shown in the video should be. This means that if you don't agree with the praise, you must be a poor judge of talent, because after all, the business that put the video together is unbiased and the greatest judge of talent known to mankind.
