The horrible trauma of hearing Kathleen Duran’s stages of fears she processed through when she heard about the knowledge of an injured officer, while not yet having any info is stress that lives with the family FOREVER. Every time I heard an offficer was harmed injured or passed away, I would go through so many stages of panic in under a minute. I would shut off all of the tvs, close the curtains and just beg GOD over and over, a billion times that the phones and doorbells didn’t ring. That would start to give me the strength I would need to prepare for the ring of the phone or doorbell or sight of his precinct in front of our house preparing to climb our Porch and ring the bell. I would just beg for strength each step especially so that I had enough to support my 17 siblings for awhile until I gained enough energy to run all the way to him. We lost so many officers during his time on the force that I just knew that the very next time would be the time. I can remember atleast 8 of his close partners passing right next to him. They eventually closed down the and relocated the entire district because they said the building was cursed. After a few years in the force he became a absent father even while home but always locked away in his room. He would beat the mess out of my step mother for absolutely no reason at all. He would ask her to cook a grand meal and it always ended in full plates of food being broke straight over her head or thrown into the wall with such accuracy. That job was his total identity and the only thing he lived for. He became an awful awful man but them streets and the community members worshipped his ground and gave him purpose. Citizens he didn’t know would call me and say, “ I just met your dad and when I told him I knew you, he let me go.” I swear, I get dealt with the respect and honor that my dad earned on those tough streets and left behind to me. My heart is forever with you Kathleen Duran. Your sons will get the honor their dad respectfully established while helping protecting and single handedly served, one at a time. I’m sending my love, gratitude and prayer with express delivered to the entire Duran family. Peace healing and comfort on earth.

It was murder, it wasnt an accident, she made her decisions based on thoughts she had before hand!! I understand she had a tough childhood. A lot of people have tough childhoods but do not cause accidents that take peoples lives. She shows no emotion unless it is about her. She seems totally put out by the victim impact statements. I understand her family is affected, but they were affected by her actions! She caused the deaths of an officer and a retired fire fighter. I find it hard to believe that she was so "helpful" to others. The boyfriend was with her in a stolen car! He has responsibility for this tragic ending of two lives. He called off the wedding for a reason that he wasn't willing to explain. She is a self-centered evil person who is only concerned with herself. Then, her family, when she is held accountable for her actions. I fail to understand how she made her statement all about her. But that goes with her self-centeredness. I pray for the Duran and Lovato families.Their losses are unimaginable. I pray for Jaramillo and her family. That someday, they can accept responsibility for her actions.
