Something I'm not sure of but every Gleaner F, K, M, L I ever ran had a floating cutter bar which I didn't see Cousin utilizing if your head hasn't had it removed from. The Gleaners made a decent head. Get the rotor speed right and shives set right and it did a pretty good job. Some fuel treatment might help you avoid some problems... we use Lucas or 911.
@SoybeanFarmer33002 жыл бұрын
Best I can tell this Gleaner K combine head has a fixed cutter bar. I'm glad cousin knows how to dial in a combine his first Hopper was full of trash but by the end of the game he had it dialed in nicely. Bill thank you very much for dropping by watching videos supporting this channel.🙂☕

@SoybeanFarmer33002 жыл бұрын
You're spot-on correct about that and it was nothing more than my own negligence. I certainly hope I haven't caused irreversible damage in this engine.🤔

Soybean Farmer. On my 7700 I changed the oil and fuel filter 2 times a year. Cut 500 ac of wheat and 500 ac of beans. They say you can run them for both because of the hours on them but it's not worth taking a chance on it.
@SoybeanFarmer33002 жыл бұрын
Robert, as I look back I have defined the entire thing and summed it up as negligence on my own part and yes it did cost me the filming opportunity I had been hoping for, yep slipped right through my diesel fuel soaked fingers.☹

Don't get out of whack just yet......Had that problem symptoms also and it wasn't a clogged filter.....Too much back pressure on pump......I ended up knocking the ball out the check valve on the hi-cycle and the 4010 by separating the pump return line to the tank from the injector bleed off return line

@SoybeanFarmer33002 жыл бұрын
Hi Lance great to see you here at the channel.🙂 That check ball has an interesting side effect resulting from its original function. It's a natural trash pickup point and when enough trash causes the malfunction you are forced to go and clean it out. I believe the trash got there because I didn't change the filter soon enough and it was being forced through the filter by the mechanical lift pump. My negligence.🤔

That is not good news about your combine, however it seems that a change of filter will get it going again all being well but buy two because you need one straight away and you will need another once you have removed and cleaned the fuel tank if not before you finish harvest!
@SoybeanFarmer33002 жыл бұрын
Okay A bit of a spoiler alert I changed the filter then cleaned the ball valve three more times before completing the Harvest. On each cleaning of the ball valve there was a noticeable amount of grit and debris. Thinking over the several days it took to complete the Harvest I look back and remember putting 10 gallons of fuel in the combine on the night before the morning where I would have cranked it for that day's work. I ran all day no problems great power good run. Next morning I poored 10 more gallons in. Now look at what happened on the inside of that tank when that fuel came rushing in, debris in the bottom of the tank being stirred up... then only minutes later I cranked the combine. This was the day I had the most problems forcing the filter change. Upon examination of the filter it was determined it should have been changed last year. My negligence cost me a filming opportunity with my cousin in his combine in the field with the 3300.☹
