Idk if kirk ever starts again for us, but this was the right move. Kirk killed our momentum in the south and took us from 6-3 to 7-7. The deadcap hit is irrelevant to me, not my money he took. I'd rather watch a rookie make rookie mistakes than watch a 13 year vet make rookie mistakes. Penix is our future and the right move.

The falcons needed a developmental qb desperately. It was basically came down to realizing penix wouldnt be available in the second round

Thank you, so many people said we could have gotten penix in the 2nd round, but I always said that we wasn't making it past the broncos and raiders. 8th over has very high for a team that just signed a 180 million dollar QB, but the raiders were taking penix 13th.

As a Falcons fan, I'll say: thank you, Kirk. This may be the end of your time in Atlanta as far as many are concerned, but you'll always have my admiration. Despite your age and despite your torn ACL, you came back to football to play for us and you did some incredible things. You've set the franchise record for pasing yards in a game, you owned the Bucs twice, and you got us to a 6-3 start. So thank you. I think history will be kinder to the Kirk Cousins experiment in Atlanta than we are now. Once all the smoke settles and time passes, we won't have the recency bias of only remembering the backhalf of the season and we'll see the bigger picture: an aging QB returned from a devastating injury and managed to accomplish some great things despite having to work with a new team, a new HC, and a new OC all at once. He'll always be me QB. Thank you Kirk.

Penix was the most pro ready qb coming out of the draft. Y’all forget he played 6 years in college. QB’s are playing longer in college and doing way better. Caleb, Daniels and Nix played long in college. Penix was the best qb out of the draft experience and pro ready wise. I’m super excited as a falcons fan.
