I'm curious but was it ever answered as to why the Sangheili decided not to retain the green paint up of their vehicles when they split from the Covenant?

So a Question. Could the Covenant go Toe to Toe with the Protoss from StarCraft? Another Question. Would the Human/Covenant War have been Shorter and Less Devastating to Humanity with the Combined Forces of Terrans, Protoss, and UNSC Alliance? Terrans being Humans but with more Advanced Technology like the Battle Cruiser's Yamato Cannon.

If the Covenant had that much access to teleportation, why did they use dropships or gravity lifts at all? Why didn't they just teleport everyone everywhere?

Perhaps the teleports were limited to only ground based operations, or, more likely, just a gameplay mechanics lol

I assume teleporters use a lot of power or need a lot of matinence

Well, just to put it into perspective; A teleporter system will have to, at some point, store the information of a given individual on some sort of computer before transmitting that information to a receiver for reconstruction. Now, it's been calculated that a single strand of human DNA takes up about 1.5GB when encoded onto a computer. And since there's roughly 40 trillion cells in an average adult, that works out to about 60 zettabytes of information just for our DNA. This isn't including the various cells, their relative positions and structure, the clothing we would be wearing, armor, weapons or other equipment. Even if we assume that Covenant computers are several times more complicated and efficient than the ones used by humanity during the war, that's still a ton of storage space you need just to transport infantry. Let's just forget about trying to calculate how much storage would be take up by Covenant tanks, or even a Scarab. There's no way you're going to just 'beam' something that complex to a random point on the surface like in Star Trek. There has to be some kind of receiver complicated, and large, enough to take that information and reconstruct it. That can only be done by some sort of fixed installation.

@@palladin1337 or a profit’s mobile teleporting gravity chair (like mercy). I think it’s just plot reasons why that don’t telport. Heck their ships slip space is basically teleportation (including in atmosphere this is the case for gravity chairs and ships) and people and equipment can be beamed down so either way teleportion logically should of been used much more like Ship Master from halo wars 2 and as we see in halo wars 1. Again though hard to write a story of survival when the enemy has teleportation.

Yup. Spire, Prophet teleportation Gravity Chair halo 2 or 3 boss battle, citadel, some maps like that water processing plant in reach. Heck slip space jumps in atmosphere is something coveent cruisers can do and those can gravity drop their crew or teleport whole bases for rapid occupation. Why they don’t use this more often? Plot is hard to Wright when the enemy can teleport lol XD UNSC plot armor is strong AF
