These videos are the true blessing. R.C. Sproul is one of my favourite pastors-teachers. But we definitely are Christians firstly and then Calvinists. Knowledge is so important, but debating with the Arminian bretheren with love is more important. Greetings from Ukraine (Evangelical Reformed Presbyterian church of Odesa).

PRAISE THE LORD JESUS... I thought the exact same thing today, that we are indeed saved by works ....but not by our works, but by the perfect works of Jesus Christ who never sinned but died for my sins and was raised to make me righteous by faith alone! For people confused on why he used that term "saved by works", it's because the Law demanded perfection, and none of us could be sinless and therefore Jesus did ALL the work for us to save us by GRACE through faith apart from works. Now when we believe, our faith is a living faith that produces love - the fruit of the Spirit - therefore our faith has the works of "love" because Christ lives in us to do His good will and pleasure!

You are bearing false witness about their beliefs. Bearing false witness means, you are the lawbreaker. The Covenant of Grace is the application of the contractional agreement of the Father and the Son made in eternity and thereby applied by the Holy Spirit to us when we are declared righteous by the gift of faith in the righteousness of His Son. As did Moses has and he ultimately realized, is that the promised land is the temple, Christ, in which he had the privilege of talking with God for eternity.

Supersessionism, also called replacement theology, is a Christian doctrine which asserts that the New Covenant through Jesus Christ supersedes the Old Covenant, which was made exclusively with the Jewish people There is more than one covenant (agreement or promise). Genesis 12:1-3(KJV) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall ALL FAMILIES families of the earth be blessed. The original Covenant with Abram/Abraham say through Abram ALL FAMILIES OF THE EARTH, the Covenant for the gentiles is in the book of Genesis. Hope this helps friend, Jesus Christ is the King

Yes he was. Romans 4:1-3 If Abraham were justified by works, he would have something to glory in, but not before God. Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness. We can justify ourselves before men by good works, but not before God. Romans 4:5-8 But to him that worketh not, does nothing, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Faith alone apart from works. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputeth righteousness APART FROM WORKS. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Once we trust Jesus alone apart from works, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 1:13-14. John 3:18 No longer condemned. Our sin debt is paid in full, and His righteousness is imputed to us. But we are still sinners. First John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Romans 1:sixteen, The gospel. First Corinthians 15:3-4 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. James speaks of works only in that they confirm a true initial faith, not that they are the conduit in which Salvation is received. Our Faith naturally leads to good works(of which were prepared beforehand by God) So James states with multiple examples how men of old exercised their faith by their actions of obedience towards God. When Abraham believed and it was attributed to him as righteousness he ddi not need to preform anything to receive that attribution.

I believe we Chrisitians greatly misunderstand how the "faith" or "faithfulness" plays in the covenants God had made with humanity. On human side, we put faith or believe that God will keep the promise (Grace). On God's side, God put faith or believe that we will keep the promise (works). Otherwise God will not make covenant with humans who have zero interest or ability or tendency to keep it. God is not a fool; He is wise and foresees. The fact that God made a covenant with humanity means He believes us. Finally, it is grace of God who put faith in us that empowers us and encourages us to do our own part to fulfill the promise. For example, the more parents show their confidence in their children, the more the children will do what their parents say. The more parents don't believe their children, the more their children will disobey. It was the Faithfulness of God like a friend, which motivated Abraham to continue to live toward fulfilling the covenant. That's why Paul said, " For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith (God's faithfulness) to faith (faithfulness of His Son) , as it is written, “The righteous shall live by HIS faith (God's or Jesus' faithfulness). Romans 1:17

That translation more explicitly expresses the original Greek meaning. The “For God so loved” is a traditional phrasing that archaically meant the same as the Spanish phrase. However, it takes on the meaning that it is a love to an extent: God loved the world so much. The meaning in the Greek is that it is a love in a certain way: For in this way God loved the world.

the cross. Before the cross, the sin offering was a lamb. But sin was only put off for one year, and then another sacrifice for the following year...and so on. But when Jesus died on the cross...He WAS that sacrificial lamb. And it was His blood that removed sin forever, that justified the sinner and covered the believer with the righteousness of Christ. So Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. (or "Old Covenant") It would be very helpful and enlightening to you to read the Book of Hebrews (New Testament) because this is all explained there.

How telling is it that Sproul's "teaching" here is little more than public speaking? Not once did this man open his Bible or read from the Bible. He made a few ancillary references to Scripture devoid of all context. He mentions the covenant God made with Abraham over circumcision (Gen. 17:10) but what about the three other distinct covenants God made with him? Covenant of land - Gen. 15:18-21 Covenant of offspring/nations - Gen. 17:2-6 Covenant of blessing (Christ) - Gen. 22:17-18 (cf. Lk. 1:72-75) Further, as others have pointed out, there is nothing in Scripture suggesting God made a "covenant" with Adam in the garden. That's pure eisegesis, bringing extra-biblical ideas and applying them to Scripture. The problem with reformed theology is that it requires the adherent to believe God has only had one plan for all of humanity for all time, even though Scripture clearly shows that different peoples at different times have received different messages unto Salvation. God has always seen salvation for humanity as coming from the finished work of Christ on the cross. But that has not always been the message (gospel) for salvation that man has lived by. We live in an age now where the gospel for salvation matches 1:1 with God's plan for salvation, yet people still try to confuse the issue and poison the gospel.
@K-Wiles

Who ever was saved by their own merit and not through faith in God? There is only ever one means of salvation for anyone who has sinned even just once, by grace through faith in God’s substitutionary provision.
@genericbrand87
@genericbrand87 3 жыл бұрын
@@K-Wiles I don't disagree with your point, and that's not what I was saying. While there is only one means of salvation from God's point of view, but from humanity's POV the truth ("gospel") that must be believed has changed throughout time. Abram did not believe that Jesus Christ, the son of God, would die on the cross for his sins, be buried, and raised again on the third day. That is *OUR* gospel message, but Abram believed God's promise to him about his seed numbering among the stars (when both he and Sarai were old and she was barren). Despite illogical nature of the promise, Abram believed, "and it was credited to him as righteousness". So too, with us... when we believe the illogical (from the human standpoint) facts of the gospel that Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, it is credited to us as righteousness. The unspiritual/unsaved man cannot comprehend a man rising from the grave, yet God, in his grace and out of his love for us, has given us the gift of faith (Eph. 2:8) so that our minds might be open and we can believe. Sproul (and other covenant theologians) propose an unbiblical "Covenant of Works" that the Bible never explicitly talks about and is actually incredibly difficult even to infer, but is necessary for their interpretive lens that God only has "one people" and has saved them throughout time the exact same way. If you live your life now by Deuteronomy 28's curses and blessings rather than by walking by faith in the Holy Spirit alone, you are outside the will of God (read Galatians). The Bible is clear that God has worked with humanity at different times in different ways -- always by his grace and according to his plan -- and therefore it's error (heresy) to apply promises and doctrine that are meant for other people at other times to ourselves during this Church Age.

I disagree that works no longer had relevance in the old testament after the covenant of work had been broken, or after the disobedience of Adam. Old Testament saints could not have been saved by putting their faith in Christ because Christ had not yet died and rosed again. Old Testament saints were saved by putting their faith in God and by works until the time of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The works they performed were the sacrifice of animals. This is how the sins of those under the law were forgiven or atoned for. Then after Christ died on the cross, we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as taught by the Apostle Paul. During the time of Christ's ministry Jews were saved by believing in Jesus and being baptized. Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be, saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: The dispensationalist view cannot be denied or overlooked.

Once we believe it, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 1:13-14 and Ephesians 4:30. The second we believe on Jesus as our only way of salvation apart from works we are given eternal life. Romans 4:5-8 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputeth righteousness apart from works. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered, blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Our sin debt is paid in full, past, present, and future sins we have not even thought of yet. John 3:18. Believers can no longer be condemned to hell because our sin debt is paid in full and we have been given His perfect righteousness and eternal life as a free gift. Romans 11:29 For the GIFTS and calling of God are without repentance. Irrevocable, Can not be changed back. Once we accept Jesus plus nothing for the free gift of eternal life, we can no longer go to hell for any reason. We have been stamped, PAID IN FULL. @@jimkraft9445 Faith is not a meritorious work in "Calvinistic" theology. It is only the instrument by which sinners receive the salvation of God through Jesus Christ alone. "Calvinism" is simply seeking to be faithful to Scripture. I don't want to defend "Calvinism". I only want to honour the word of God. This is a theology that stands in opposition to the actual text of Scripture. There is no 'covenant of works' because God no where uses the term covenant until Scripture gets to Noah. Adam and Eve had a decree from God to rule and reign over the earth, to have dominion, and that they would lose it if they transgressed by eating of the tree. The only 'work' so-called that God directed them to DO was to AVOID a tree. This is hardly aptly described as a 'work' approaching God; its just the opposite: a decree of avoidance! Everything else they might have done was in their freedom to do, having a condition prior to the knowledge of 'evil' or corruption. And the last two 'covenants', grace and redemption are neither in Scripture because they are superfluously worded: redemption is accomplished by grace, and neither are spoken of by God as 'covenants' but happen through faith in the God who accomplishes them. As every example of salvation shows: Adam having faith in God's decree of redemption in Gen 3. This spawned the Melchizedekian priesthood until Abraham's reception of God's decree to accomplish the same through 'land, nation, and blessing" as head of all the nations, which the final Melchizedekian priesthood acknowledged, and whose order of which Jesus became a priest as the second Adam, that is, the final King-Priest of the World. The Old Covenant formed the nation Israel in Mosaic practice holding the Messiah's line until the New Covenant secured the headship over every nation once its Messiah arrived. The end of days will see the non-national church raptured (i.e. Bride/Body of Christ) where the National headship of Israel can be reestablished unto the return of the King of Kings, (i.e. nations), and high Priest forever. Amen.

Read the book "Abraham's Four Seeds" by John Reisinger to see the problems with Reformed Covenant Theology, which is about 400 years old, and Dispensational Theology, which is about 200 years old. Both man-made systems fail to agree with Galatians chapters 3, and 4. Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made systems of interpretation fall apart.

brother, with all due respect, have you really disproved dispensationalism when Jeremiah plainly says it is to the TRIBE OF ISRAEL and to the TRIBE OF JUDAH (no Gentiles there); your verses in Hebrews are written to, well, HEBREWS (not Gentiles); and your verses in II Corinthians 3 do not contain the word “covenant” but rather “testament”? In fact, the word “covenant” isn’t found in the entire book of II Corinthians. To an impartial observer outside of either camp, it may read like you simply and directly reinforced dispensationalism. @@hereticus40 You are ignoring what happened on the Day of Pentecost when Peter addressed the crowd as "men of Judea", and as "men of Israel", and as "all the housed of Israel". On that day about 3,000 Israelites accepted the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. The Gentiles were not grafted in until several years later. The Book of Hebrews was written to Christians of Hebrews heritage who were having problems letting go of the Old Covenant. We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. The same Greek word "diatheke",which is translated as "covenant" in Hebrews 12:24 of the KJV, is the same Greek word Paul used in 2 Cor. 3:6-8. Who is really teaching “Replacement Theology” ? (Did God fulfill His promises to the Jewish people at Calvary? Matthew 26:28, John 19:30) The advocates of modern Dispensational Theology often accuse others of promoting “Replacement Theology”, or some may even say “Antisemitism”. What does the Bible say about their accusations? 1. Who is replacing Christ as the seed of Abraham through which all the families of the Earth would be blessed in Genesis 12:3, with Abraham’s modern descendants? (See Galatians 3:8) 2. Who is replacing the one people of God in John 10:16, with two peoples of God ? 3. Who is replacing the one seed (Christ) in Galatians 3:16, with the many seeds? 4. Who is replacing the children of the promise in Romans 9:8, with the children of the flesh? 5. Who is replacing the faithful “remnant” of Israelites in Romans 11:1-5, with the Baal worshipers? 6. Who is replacing the word "so" in Romans 11:26, with the word "then"? 7. Who is attempting to replace the Church made up of all races of people, with one made up only of Gentiles? Why did Peter address the crowd as “all the house of Israel” in Acts 2:36, when about 3,000 Israelites accepted Christ on the Day of Pentecost? 8. Based on Hebrews 9:15, the New Covenant cannot be separated from the Messiah’s death. Is the covenant in Daniel 9:27 connected to the Messiah’s death in Daniel 9:26. Is the covenant with the “many” in Daniel 9:27 the same covenant with the “many” in Matthew 26:28? If it is, some have replaced the New Covenant in Daniel 9:27 with a future covenant made by an antichrist not found in Daniel chapter 9. (See the 1599 Geneva Bible used by the Pilgrims.) 9. Those promoting the Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology often accuse others of teaching “Replacement Theology”, but are they the masters of it? Are they promoting a form of Dual Covenant Theology based on race? (See “genealogies” in Titus 3:9) Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? 10. Watch the KZbin video “Genesis of Dispensational Theology” to see the origin of this man-made doctrine, which is less than 200 years old. It was brought to the United States about the time of the Civil War by John Nelson Darby. The doctrine was later incorporated into the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible, and then spread through much of the modern Church. Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas Texas was created in part to promote John Darby’s Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology. Lewis Sperry Chafer, the first president of Dallas Theological, had the following to say about the difference between Israel and the Church: “The dispensationalist believes that throughout the ages God is pursuing two distinct purposes: one related to the earth with earthly people and earthly objectives involved which is Judaism; while the other is related to heaven with heavenly people and heavenly objectives involved, which is Christianity.” Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dispensationalism (Dallas, Seminary Press, 1936), p. 107. Chafer states that, ‘Israel is an eternal nation, heir to an eternal land, with an eternal kingdom, on which David rules from an eternal throne,’ that is, on earth and distinct from the church who will be in heaven.” Lewis Sperry Chafer. Systematic Theology. 1975. Vol. IV. pp. 315-323. John Walvoord, another prominent voice of Dallas Theological stated… "...it is an article of normative dispensational belief that the boundaries of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants from the Nile to the Euphrates will be literally instituted and that Jesus Christ will return to a literal and theocratic Jewish kingdom centred on a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. In such a scheme the Church on earth is relegated to the status of a parenthesis.” John F. Walvoord, The Rapture Question.1979, p. 25 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are there two peoples of God in John 10:16? (See also 1 John 2:22-23, 2 John 1:7-11.) What is the land promise to the Old Testament Saints in Hebrews 11:15-16? Based on 2 Peter 3:10-13, is this earth “eternal”? Will it be replaced by a new earth? Based on Acts 2:36, and Romans 9:6-8, and Romans 11:1-5, and Hebrews 12:22-24, and James 1:1-3, can faithful Israel and the Church be separated into two different groups? Who is the New Covenant promised to in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and Hebrews 8:6-13? Will modern Orthodox Jews ever be saved outside of the New Covenant Church?

If God is God, why did he let Satan come into the Garden? ...because God would be an unfair God if he gave us free choice, but then no choices than what choice did they have? God spoke to them, and if they didn’t hear anything else but God, what’s the point of free choice? That’s why he let the serpent in God says something, the serpent says something else, and they believe the serpent and choose to disobey God because God is Holy, they had to separate from God in sin and ever since there’s been a war and the war one day will end when every single person on the planet hears about Jesus has the same opportunity as Adam and Eve. The insanity of Calvinism is clearly told by RC. Sproul on answering a question on predestination, in short “…That God positively decrees and determines in advance those whom he will save namely the elect and in the same method he decrees the damnation of the sinner and that just as on the one hand he creates positively saving faith in the hearts of the elect he in an equally determined fashion creates fresh EVIL in the hearts of the reprobate to make sure they don’t come to BELIEVE “ James 1:13 Jeremiah 7:30-31 - “‘The people of Judah have DONE EVIL in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it. They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire-SOMETHING I DID NOT COMMAND, NOR DID IT ENTER MY MIND. James 1:13 “Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one”. Genesis 6:6 debunks Calvinism's false teaching that He "predestined" everything including the fall of man, sin, and evil. Calvinists also believe that God created man and then INTENTIONALLY predestined his fall and predestined sin and evil. If that is true, then it makes no logical sense for God to feel regret and be deeply troubled afterwards. Hence, the errant belief that God predestined the fall of man is debunked and blown out of the water. Genesis 6:6 - The Lord REGRETTED that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was DEEPLY TROUBLED. If YOU create something and then intentionally engineer it for FAILURE, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE FEELING REGRET AND BE TROUBLED AFTERWARDS. Jeremiah 7:30-31 - “‘The people of Judah have DONE EVIL in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it. They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire-SOMETHING I DID NOT COMMAND, NOR DID IT ENTER MY MIND The Bible teaches John 3:16, NOT "John Calvin 3:16".

That's a untrue statement. It's easy to take something someone says out of context to make it appear that a lie is being told. In the true context, John Macarthur explains it beautifully and scripturally without error. False teachers in false churches use demonic forces wittingly and unwittingly to make it appear a person is "speaking in tongues" when in fact it's non-language mumbo jumbo. Last I checked there was only one day of Pentecost and other times of gifts in that period such as shortly afterwards some of John the Baptists converts who were baptized in water and only later baptized in the Holy Spirit when the Apostle Peter laid hands on them were then talking in tongues separate from the day of Pentecost but specific to that place and time to show gifts and wonders. It should be noted that they actually spoke in real verifiable foreign tongues and not meaningless mumblings or screaming, laughing or whatever the modern day Pentecostal clown car sideshow presents. But this is nothing new, demonic forces have been trying to alter the true Gospel and the Word of God since the time of Adam and Eve. It's a battle that will continue until Jesus returns and Satan is finally utterly deposed. And those in the fake churches following the wide path to the wide gate will say to the Lord that they have worked wonders in His name and the Lord will say depart from me, I never knew you. The times of gifts and wonders ended when the last Apostle John died. Don't buy the Roman Catholic lie that the Apostolic succession continues. Speaking of false churches, the Roman church is the widest of the wide paths to the wide gate. Salvation is by Grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone and specifically in that order. You can't buy it, earn it by good deeds or anything else. If God doesn't Grace you with the gift of seeing in yourself your truly pathetic rotten soul and you beg for mercy you're condemned and lost forever. End of story.

@KTTGHMTJWYCBLAC or realize RC Sproul is wrong. False teaching. Befuddled confusing explanation. Lord have mercy on his soul, and mine.

No, Christianity has been dumbed down to the point where people don't know the God they claim to worship. These teachings are important.

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believe on Him who justieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Faith alone apart from works. Our works can not save sinners. Only Jesus finished work on the cross saves sinners and pay our sin debt, past, present, and future sins. Romans 4:six thru 8. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord imputeth righteousness apart from works. Romans 11:six. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. John Calvin did not write John 3:sixteen thru 18. Jesus said it, we believe it, and that settles it. John six:47. First John 2:2 and First Timothy 2:4. Gods word, not mine.

Ephesians 2:8-9 Sproul believes faith is a work of God. It is not. First Corinthians 1:21 No one is given the Holy Spirit of promise until they believe of there own free will. Ephesians 1:13. We are given eternal life after we have believed, not before. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit after we believe not before. First John 2:2. Christ died for the sins of the whole world. First Timothy 2:4 It is Gods will that everyone believe and receive the free gift of eternal life. But, only those who have believed are saved. John six:40 Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE, and shall not come into judgement, but is passed from death unto life. Romans six:23 For the wages of sin is death, and we all sin, First John 1:8, and we all die, but the GIFT of God is eternal life, because no one can earn it. The GIFT of God is eternal life, not a reward for good behavior. We are saved the instant we believe it. John six:47

Romans 11:29 For the gifts, eternal life, And calling of God are without repentance. Irrevocable. Can not be changed back. Once you believe it, you are saved forever. No longer condemned. John 3:18 All our sins are paid, past, present, and future sins we have not even thought of yet. Paid in full. John 10:28-29 Double eternal security, based on what Jesus did for us, not on what we do. We can not save ourselves.

You’re probably one of those heretics who hate the Great Saint Paul.
