Marina and Yume Takeuchi have been good friends since they appeared in a stage musical together around 2015, when Yume was 15. In 2021 they performed a streaming concert called Marina Horiuchi Presents Awesome Station, they even did matching hairstyles, and looked so happy together. At that time they both wrote emotional words about their friendship on social media. For example Yume wrote, “Marina Horiuchi, the only friend I made when I first moved to Tokyo to work in the entertainment industry and didn’t know what to do. It seems that my long-standing wish to be invited as a guest has come true, and I would like to thank everyone. After all, Talking Marina, Laughing Marina, Singing Marina, and Marina at any moment were cool, comfortable, dignified and beautiful. Someday, I wish we could duet together with a live audience. I have more new dreams.” btw, Marina sang her brilliant song Dream Diary, Yume Nikki, for the first time live in that concert. Marina responded, “Yume has made a wonderful post. Let’s continue to be friends forever.” Note, they both used the word Aibō which can be translated as Partners Pals Accomplices Companions Buddies, but I translated it as Friends. On Marina’s channel, you should watch her What’s In My Bag Video from 2020 November 19 and at 2m30s she shows a drawing. She and Yume bought perfume together at some point, and both drew their portraits on its paper, and wrote short messages. Marina’s message was a pun with Yume’s name written next to the perfume’s tagline Make Me Happy, changed to YuMake Me Happy. Yume wrote “Hariuchi Desu”, which might be a pun that means “I’m sticking out like a sore thumb” but I’m not sure. In Marina's One Hundred Questions video from 2020 she was asked if there's something she always keeps with her, and she said a portrait that a friend drew for her. note in the What's In My Bag video, Marina also showed some of her papers from university music studies at 3m50s, and I think she showed the original lyrics page for one of the songs she wrote. In case you don’t know, Yume normally performs with acoustic guitar and has written her own songs. She also performed in Love Live Revue Starlight. Marina linked Yume’s channel in the description. Her 2021 mini-album, rêve, is very good, mostly written by her, and it’s officially on YT if you search its title and her name. She has a nice Music Video for her song Moon and Honey, and an acoustic cover video of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Of course I’m assuming you have listened to Marina’s Nano Story album and analyzed the lyrics, otherwise I would recommend doing that first.

Correction, I claimed that Yume Takeuchi wrote most of the songs on her album, but she only wrote the song LOOKING FOR YOU, the others were written by the producer Shiraishi Satori. I hope you saw Marina and Yume’s next duet "I See The Light" from Tangled, it's extraordinary. Since it relates to all the Disney covers she did recently, I should point out that in June, Marina went to see a new area of Disney Sea called Fantasy Springs and posted pictures. She wrote "The spring in my heart was gushing out, and I was so moved that I could make a hot spring without even realizing it. I was so enthralled by listening to Rapunzel's singing that I couldn’t leave the tower for a while." And a day before it opened she watched something called Believe Sea of Dreams at Disney Sea, and wrote "The scenes with the princesses in particular made my soul tremble. Their bravery and straightforwardness, and the way their songs are filled with the joy of living, their sparkling power touched my heart, and I’ve always admired them. I was able to recharge my batteries at my favourite Disney, so I want to push My Story forward with all my might."
