It’s New Music Friday and happy birthday to my dad who turned 86 today!!
This is a song I used to play and sing as a kid from my Broadway Show Tunes book. My mom used to call me her songbird, because I could sit at the piano flipping through song after song singing for hours.
The song takes a lot of breath control and the chords are mostly extended, so it pushed my abilities to play and sing together and record in one take. This was my best take, flaws and all.
