This is a really, really, really good cover. I have been playing it on repeat for a while. I would argue that if the vocals were mixed in differently this track would absolutely be better than the original because the instrumentals are 100% on point. The way she did the vocals makes me believe that this song should have been done in an older Thrash Metal style like this. Very neat!

Glad you liked it. I can not deny that professional mixing would make it better, but I am not a professional :) But I'm trying my best with what I've got and with what little I know about recording/mixing xD

@@Quantized2 Hey man: I think everything sounded really great. Given the fact that you claim not to be a professional and using limited resources makes me really impressed. You have the talent and I think if you did have the resources you needed you definitely could take it to that next level. But even so: I think the guitars, drumming and the way you mixed it was super awesome and had the grittiness of thrash that I love. In fact listening to the other Metal covers of this song I listen to on YT, yours is definitely my favorite by a long shot. I have subscribed and look forward to your other covers.

Probably the vocals are superfluous here, they sound too quiet against the background of the guitar.

Maybe. But on all the devices I have listened to it on I think the vocal level is fine... I don't have any professional gear, though, so it's possible that after mixing different parts will stand out differently on different devices. I can only mix with the stuff I have, so unfortunately it will be optimized for what I have access to.

I agree they are a bit quiet and lack the power needed in a few places but vocals are not superfluous. If OP had the original vocal track rather than trying to strip the music from the original song the vocals could be mixed/integrated better. That said the vocals and guitaring are working off each other and is the whole point of the cover.

@@Thorkitty19 As mentioned, I have no real gear for recording/mixing. But with what I have I am quite happy with the result. The vocal rip was very low at some places, so I had to boost it up a lot. Not sure if I could have done a better job with the actual vocal track as I lack experience, but possibly :)
