First part of the song, the main vocalist was Haraguchi-san, the bassist. She has a pretty big vocal part in one of their originals, a song called "Blooming". She has such a cute voice, I love hearing her singing!! And you can see how much fun they have when recording in the studio! It's so heartwarming! Haraguchi-san's smile! Tamu's goofiness with that kind of whistle in her mouth, Hazuki's grin! You can sense this kind of atmosphere in most of their covers :D

NEMOPHILA always put lots of effort when they did cover songs as a gesture of respect to the original artists. In KISS cover for example, they all put on face make up as well. Now for this particular cover, here is a story behind it... --- Interviewer: Over the past year, you have released a lot of cover songs of western and Japanese metal and rock classics on your KZbin channel. They are awesome thank for doing them! How did the band decide on which songs to cover? Did each of you select personal favorites? mayu: I have picked all the songs. Interviewer: So, you decided to cover Minions/Banana? (NEMOPHILA laughing, mayu laughing shaking her head no) SAKI: For that one, someone from Akiyama’s team suggested the “Banana” song, since we wanted to do something special for Christmas. We weren’t familiar with the song at all, it was really fun combining the happy Minion song with metal. Interviewer: You all enjoyed covering it? NEMOPHILA: Yes! (Haraguchisan thumbs up) --- They compose their songs together with a team of composers and Akiyama is the team leader.

Japanese women love the minions almost as much as they love everything Disney. I would bet serious money that they had all of the Minions clothing and such at home before this idea came up. “Hypnosis” was written by Haraguchi-san with lyrics by Hazuki-san as a tribute to the Disney movie “Aladdin” It’s one of her favorite movies.

The Holy Trifecta of Lovebites, Nemophila and Band-Maid. Three best bands in this and most likely past 3 decades. I'd also add Scandal to the list. They do more pop-rock with elements of grunge, ska, reggae, punk and electro. They all sing, compose, arrange, write lyrics and have their own label. There are so many Japanese all female bands, well, bands in general that you'd have material for next year. PS. You really have to check So Hyang since you did some singers.

The first part is sung by Haraguchi-san (the bassist). Mayu sings the rock part of the song. This cover is so much fun, it proves that Nemophila can be cute and badass at the same time 🤘🏼🤘🏼

It's actually Hazuki (the guitarist) who is the main singer Saki and Haraguchi-san do backup vocals, and Mayu does the rock part.

@@samikoivisto7705 Haraguchi-san is the main vocalist in the first part. It starts with Saki, then Hazuki comes in with 2-part harmony, then Haraguchi-san comes in with the lead vocal line, which she keeps until the metal part kicks in. Based on multiple other songs, Haraguchi-san does the most lead vocals apart from Mayu (having lead lines in this song and Blooming, and dueting with Mayu in Hypnosis and Shimi), though she and Hazuki have more prominent backing vocals than Saki or Tamu much of the time.

To see 5 of the best rock/metal musicians out there so completely grounded and just having fun doing what they do is just awesome. With most western bands, I just can't imagine something like this here. That alone makes this band special for me. I saw your video for 'Dissension' just a few hours ago during my lunch break at work, and immediately 2 questions came to my mind. The first was how you would react to this cover here after your first 'encounter' with these ladies. :) Yeah, that's kind of what I expected. 😂 Your expression when the girls flipped the switch to "serious" is just priceless (not to say adorable 😇). I guess I'll get the answer to the second question on Friday. :) For me, 'Life' is their masterpiece so far, and I'm very curious to hear what you think of that song.
