I'm 76 this riff is something different, indeed to learn this to perfection. There is so much potential to be had with it. I've just started learning lead guitar. Thanks

I can tell you this much . I started out with the bass guitar 4 string, loved it but always had a problem, my fingers are short so I can't stretch them out especially the middle and ring finger , so now that I'm working with the electric guitar I'm working harder beings I have to move my hand more due to short fingers, however I refuse to let this discourage my desire to play , I play despite this very small issue , and yes there are certain cords I can't hit due to the limit with short fingers but that doesn't hinder my will to become a great guitarist . I love challenges .....

Even when broken down and played slowly this riff truly gives inpirations along the way! Shows how POWERFUL this riff is! Thank you, thank you, thank you Eddie for bringing those creative sparks through this awesomely impressive though short lesson!

What's cool about this practice riff is it hopefully illustrates how you can use your inactive fingers to mute the other strings when your on high E and doing the bends up at 17 and 19th frets. I found this out quite by accident simply by practicing it. Really neat!

Great lesson Eddie. I'm a GMM VIP, and have been doing your lessons on the Ultimate guitarist blueprint, and I just gotta say, these lessons have improved my playing immensely, still a little slow, and my theory isn't that great, but its getting there. And one last thing, I have a black/goldburst PRS too, beautiful instrument, sounds fantastic. Thank you again sir.🎸🤘🎶🎧🔊😉

Lovely lick and it could give even more context to your lesson - have a listen. Best wishes and keep it up, I really enjoy following you.

Love your teaching style Eddie, but i'm slightly confused (no change there). Ive just learnt the pentatonic scale minor, slowly, and spotted the extended version. It starts nearly the same but has a different path and finish point. how can that be the same key? or is that a complicated lesson on its own.

At :45 "our root note; that's A" 3:45-4:00 "the first octave" but he ends on C# "next octave" but he ends on F# "then the third octave" but he ends on C# again. 4:54 "17th fret of the high e string" is A. Hmmm... Great lick, love the lesson; especially the tab; and this guy's a much better player than I'll ever be, but.... 5:50 then he counts the 4 A root notes. No big, I get it; kind of sounds like something Zappa would play BEFORE he starts a solo.
@OnwardAndEdward
@OnwardAndEdward 3 жыл бұрын
I was more just referring to the fragments of the lick that spanned across those octaves, I wasn’t implying those other notes, other than A, were the root. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for watching!
