How did y’all forget to mention James Franklin as a coach under pressure. PSU has been the poster child for teams that would benefit most from an expanded playoff, so if the goalpost gets moved CLOSER and they still can’t break through? Whew buddy. Not saying he should be fired if they miss out, but that would be pretty ironic if the playoff finally expands and they still come up short.

I wouldnt be mad if Ohio State lost to Oregon, it’s not about being fine with a loss but Oregon should have a great team and its’s at their tough place. It all depends on how Oregon has looked leading up to the game and how the game goes. I would be really disappointed if Ohio State was blown out but definitely dint see that happening

How terrible is this DT room? 5th year Jacobian Guillory; 5th year Gio Paez; 5th year Jalen Lee; 3rd year Shone Washington; Freshman 5* Dominic Mckinnley? That seems at least average. Maybe below average… but it’s not crippling to the point where competent defense is unachievable with competent coaching. It was LSUs secondary that caused most of their embarrassment last season… It just needs to improve to the 50’s as a defensive ranking to compete at a high level as a team.

None of these coaches are under real pressure. If they get canned, they get millions that they can live off for the rest of their life. The coach at Youngstown State or similar is under pressure. They get fired, they got assistants making 65 grand and now have no job or pillow to fall on.

Fair for sure. But nobody would watch a show discussing that. Also, you can pretty easily go get a non-coaching job making 65K right out of HS.

Problem for Day is... IF we assume he loses to Michigan again this year - at home - with all those stars returning and - with all those transfer stars bought for 1 year - against a first year HC with an all new coaching staff - against a Qb all the OSU fan base will have poopooed all season... ... then how on earth is he going to win in 2025 - @ AA - with all that star power gone and the players behind them getting few snaps in Days system - against a settled coaching staff with the wind in its sails - with an improved UM Qb room? Unless they get to play and beat UM again this season in Indianapolis, the fan base would stare a 5 year losing streak in the eye. That's entering Cooper territory right there ... 🤷‍♂️

They are going to be uber talented in 2025. They’ll still have caleb downs, jeremiah smith, carnell tate, julian sayin, possibly sonny styles and cj hicks, jermaine matthews jr… A couple of those names are unproven but the sky is the limit tbh

Eh, UM doesn't recruit that well so even if Ohio State loses to them this year, next year isn't a guarantee. They've had one top 10 class in the past 4 years, and it was ranked 9th. Betting on a new coaching staff to continue to out develop other teams while keeping the players around for 4-5 years is quite a bet.
