Simon sounds so great & I love the synth-funk dance instrumental vibe DD added. I've also luv'd ELO since I was ~8 (when the band did most of the music for the movie "Xanadu"), so I hope ELO fans, esp any who don't like this cvr, at least know that DD only tries it with music they're fans of; & while they redid certain snds, it's only things DD would've done to snd more like themselves, if they'd written it. DD wld still want the original writer(s)/musicians to like their version & not feel DD disrespected the song or ELO/JL;& IMO, I think they we're successful bc now I enjoy both versions - something that wouldn't have occurred had I not been curious enuf to be directed to give the original a listen w/my adult ears (since I'd forgotten about it, given it wasn't 1 of my many favs which I'd been re-listening to while growing up). Thanks for your wonderful comment! Truth be told, I also felt the love for ELO back in the day...truly went looking for the song after I noticed the cover and it brought back so many memories!! Also, thanks for all three...means a lot to me, truly!
