Love your thought processes, for they end up in lines like "remove them (the slugs) from the situation" and "If i've committed murder and was trying to dig a grave, i'd given up by now" 😂

Remove that bindweed from newly planted raspberry because next year you will have only bindweed, not fruits.👍

I was worried there was some bindweed caught up with the bush too. I suspect Emma dealt with it off camera.

Hello Emma. You don’t need net for your raspberries. I’ve been growing them for over 30 years, and have never used netting. Just wire or twine for support. One at about 2 foot mark, second at about the 3 foot mark. Both sides of your support stakes. Raspberries grow in the middle, but have support on both sides to keep them up. Hope that makes sense. Good luck! xox 🇨🇦

Emma the spaces you've covered you should be growing winter crops to sustain you until spring - winter cabbages, cauliflower - broccoli, onions, potatoes and turnip.

Emma, around the end of February, you could buy some willow whips and plant a living willow arch, each year it will become stronger and more beautiful. You could then plant at the bottom (sweet peas) in my case and you’ll have the best of both worlds, a beautiful structure and full of colour. Just an idea for the future. Take care Pete. 🧑‍🌾👍

The "buried in a shallow grave" comment actually made me lol 😆. I HATE digging anything for this exact reason (so no dig all the way for me). Also I've had raspberries in my garden for donkeys years and never had supports, they just grow like blackberries (weeds with free fruit). I've been trying to reduce mine as they come up everywhere, so keep on top of them when they get established! Love your content ✨️ 💕 xx

I have read you can mulch your raised beds with a top dressing off grass clippings /straw and leaves and let it rot down over winter. Cardboard is also good. Let's hope for good crumbly soil come spring 😊

The reason why your cucumbers are late is because you planted them very late, im in northwest UK which is much colder than london and i put my cucumbers out the 2nd week of june, i think yours would be fine planted out at the end of may 😁👍 hope this helps. Ps. Your allotment is amazing 😊

You don't net the raspberries, you just tie them to the wire as they grow upwards, they don't have anything ( tendrils) to hold on to the netting.

Why would you think that this is wrong time for moving raspberries?.. There's no better time than September to move them. Just go for it! Move all the raspberries now when it is getting enough rain for a better settle and still some warmth left in the first part of the autumn. They will do great if moved now. Don't worry about the fruit. It is not actively growing when there's fruit. Active growth happens in late spring and early summer when there are new leaves and branches coming on and on. Once planted in their new place, then give them a good deal of food - I'd do either well rotted manure of shrub compost. And then woodchip them over. Repeat food and woodchip every autumn.

You need a sharper, pointier shovel I think. And a pointy steel thing to make holes with... I have no idea what they are called in english 🙈 Its heavy and about 150 cm long, used to make holes for fence posts and such. 😳 Then you can make really good and deep holes for your structures. ❤️ I have the same nightmareish hard ground here in Sweden. 😂

I don't understand raspberry supports. They send runners in all directions. Don't look too closely at the raspberries you pick. Raspberry beetle 🪲 Brown Amazon boxes are totally fine for use in the garden. The glue holding the fibres and ink is totally biodegradable.
