NBC Sports made a huge mistake moving on from you. I really hope you can land with another major sports network. If I had my way I'd team you up with Jim Deshaies and have you call Cubs games. Over the saga of the A's leaving Oakland finding your channel has been great. Can't wait to see what you'll do with this channel. I also can't wait until the live streams come back, those are so much fun and I appreciate when you answer my questions.

Thank you for all the amazing coverage over the years Brodie. I wish you the best with your future endeavors. I'm going to miss this team so much. Been a fan since 2001 from Chicago. I never got to see the coliseum in person but I've watched so many games I feel like I've been there in spirit. The fans deserve much better. The best fans in sports hands down

Hey Brodie, I left a longer comment on a video that might be private now, and I hope you can read it at least. But if not, just thank you for everything you did during these final days. You did amazing at being able to carry all sides of this experience and express both frustration and love at the same time. It's not easy for anyone, and it's not common among media voices to really be able to comfortably express all of that to a wider audience, and you did fantastic. I feel terrible for all Oakland fans, and especially the kids who will never get to go to an Oakland Athletics game again. This means so much to so many people, and you did wonderfully with expressing that all, and being able to create a space to share the whole gambit of emotions from what shouldn't even be happening. I wish you the absolute best luck with whatever TV venture you may pursue, but you are definitely killing it with the youtube game. I actually found you and followed before I even knew about your Bay Area sports coverage. You do a great job with all of this.

When folks say it's easy to move on because it's been a long time coming forget we have to drive past the Oakland Coliseum and be reminded every single day that our community got robbed by a greedy owner with no true love or connection to this community because IF Fisher or even Manfred really cared about the fans here this would've never transpired like this. Absolutely heartbreaking 💔

Two questions I am wondering about...(1) Was Fisher at the final game of his own team and (2) How come Chris Carey isn't part of the home T.V. telecasts anymore?

We need the new group that just purchased the Coliseum to be ready for either MLB expansion or to save the A's IF Vegas falls thru.

Listening to Ray B. He seems more focused on the old Bball arena. Says it's in good shape, so maybe he's angling for WNBA with that league on the rise with CC coming into it. I'm sure they will look to expand. Maybe he has that on his mind with talking about that.
@smokey5100

@@mjwings3 WNBA would be a bad idea. The Warriors already have a WNBA team. We want NFL or MLB!
@mjwings3
@mjwings3 Ай бұрын
@@smokey5100 It would be Oakland's team though. Warriors could have built the stadium in Oakland. Lacob was going to pay for it, but he dismissed Oak from the start. I don't think NFL or MLB are realistic but getting your own WNBA team is, and it would be a fantastic rivalry from the start with GS's team. Ray B. is focused on the old arena from what he's saying. That would work with that. WNBA is on the rise too.

Oakland needs to clean itself up before any major sports league puts a team there. Everyone blames Fisher but the city letting itself crumble to the state it is in today is atleast 50% too blame. If all the major sports leagues leave your city there are deeper issues than greedy owners.

Kaval said lawsuits or potential lawsuits from the maritime industry were a factor at Howard Terminal. Not that I believe that but it was the only remote thing that made any sense. However, in Las Vegas they are still facing issues on their taxpayer money from the school challenges. So the idea that it would be smoother sailing in Las Vegas is obviously flawed.

@brodiebrazil See Casey Pratt interview of May 14, 2024. and San Jose Mercury's article of May 13, 2024. Appeared that some facets of litigation went away because the A's said they were going to Las Vegas. The BCDC approvals appear to have reverted to A's pre-proposal conditions, unless something occurred since May.

I think Salt Lake could be maxed out with two pro teams. City population is only 200 K and metro is about 1.2 M. Could be where Hockey beats MLB to the punch with opportunity. All of the sudden Coyotes are available, and they pounced.

Something to consider... The A's are in California, of course, and are subject to the corrupt and high tax rates that are driving numerous companies to exit the state. As a business it would not seem implausible to seek better locations for operations. A player making $30 million a year has to consider the state income tax that takes a bite out before deciding to take an offer to play. This may be a middle finger to the state corruption and mismanagement, not to the fanbase. Food for thought.

Why leave Oakland? Everyone is fleeing California and the literal sh!thole that the Bay Area has become. MLB players know playing for a California team is going to cost them more in taxes than other states and cities.
@someguy7222
@someguy7222 Ай бұрын
Hey Rigg, not everyone can just up and leave. I don't want any fans of any area to have to lose their team, ESPECIALLY if there were others willing to buy the team and keep there. You gotta' admit, that is messed up. Sure, California is "too Blue" for it's own good, we probably agree on that. Still, that aside, why be gleeful at folks who just love the team? If there was literally nobody or no investors who wanted to take on the risk of buying the team in as you phrase it, "$h!+ hole" shouldn't that at least be given a chance? I mean Mr. Fisher did join a group to save the Giants ($h!+ hole?) for San Francisco, after all. At one point he even owned 10% of the Giants (relinquished when purchased the A's). So, bro. why not at least offer that same to Oakland? I mean sure, yes, you're not a fan of Oakland, I get it. But why be kind of an @$$hole to the "$hi!+ hole? I wouldn't want any fans, Chicago, Milwaukee, Arizona, etc. to lose their teams, because I'm a decent person and don't rejoice when others are deprived of things that they love but are out of their ability to control. Empathy...try some...it's good for the soul

@@riggler2 Losing the team hurts. Oakland certainly is going through some dark days. I'm from there and I'm not in the river of denial. Also: it really sucks to lose the 1 thing you love especially (stay with me here) It DIDN'T have to be this way. Mr. Fisher was going to stay in your favorite city as long as that city coughed up $ 1 billion + You responded to the vid. Fine fine. Why not respond to some of the points I brought up. We're adults (I hope) can't we discuss?
