I grew up jn a family like that. It's totally debilitating depending what role you have. The abuse, disrespect, lack of support, putdowns, and contempt never stop and it only gets worse. I called them out and they enlisted more abusive supporters and became more sinister, devious and covert. I ended up extremely sick, in and out of the hospital, particularly if I had been out or had contact with them or their abusive connections. I gradually dumped all of them. Guess what..when I went no contact, my health improved. When I had too much contact even via phone or email, I ended up in the hospital Planning my total escape. Six decades of gross abuse, discrediting and I am done with the fkrs.

@Elizabethan Diosa I'm sorry this happened to you. My husband was just coming to terms with his family of origin's toxic dynamic. He spent time in rehab, where his Counselors made him aware of what he needed to do and the boundaries he needed to set with them. Unfortunately, he never got to see a more healthy future (or if it would've even been possible) where his family is concerned. Barely 5 months after his death, his family came after me in the legal system and made all of our problems with them, before, look like a cake walk. It takes a lot to go up against these types of personalities, and now I feel like I can understand what my husband went through, growing up in that environment. They'll never change. Count yourself fortunate that you have the ability to get and stay away from them. Best wishes to you for your continued health and happiness.

TOTALLY!!!! When you mentioned the food allergies, I clearly remembered my sister bringing foods containing nuts to family gatherings, AFTER she found out my DIL is extremely allergic to all nuts. Until this past summer, at 68, I believed there was something very wrong with me, because even when we were children, she talked down to me & would tell our parents 'stories' about me that were clearly untrue. My parents idolized her due to severe health problems she had as a child. I seemed to never be able to do anything right. Dad passed this spring & my sister's aggressively nasty behavior escalated. Great timing Rebecca. I discovered one today.... I've been testing them for this last week via WhatsApp admittedly but I'm happy that I did it. One of the clues was that I've given up smoking now for over 3 weeks and I'd said I'd been vaping since but stopped a couple of days ago. They're a smoker still. Was asked if I'd had a smoke yet.... If they'd truly been reading my messages they'd know I'd stopped vaping not smoking so very hurtful to suggest I smoke again rather than vape if I gave in. Also had decorated their flat and I said I didn't like the colour but couldn't accept why I dislike it, said they could always paint it again....I felt this was like future faking in a way.... My tip is choose the method of communication that's most suitable for you first and if they don't respect your boundaries that's a big clue... trust your gut, ask your other friends about it and remember trust your gut and go no contact as that's what they'll hate. There were more reasons than that but definitely match with what you've (Rebecca) said in this video..... loads of lies to try and make me feel sorry for them etc and then no mention of these stories just days later..... Was difficult but I don't want to take the risk knowing someone who's toxic whilst I'm still healing, they can stay out of my life! Thank you Rebecca Zung, learnt all this off you....and I acknowledge other KZbin channels but feel you are the best at spotting these traits etc. You don't try to sell anything on here at all. My narcissistic ex fiance would always be so calm after he would say something that was so cruel knowing it either made me upset or sad of both. I just wanted to smack the crap out of him so many times when he would be that way. He said we would go to counseling but then back out. He didn't think he has any problems and blamed me for everything it seemed. It's been 11 months that I've been gone now. I've stayed strong and haven't contacted him. So many days I ruminate and just want to write him a letter to him and his ex wife to speak how everything made me feel in hopes that his daughter would not be treated a certain way by them so she doesn't get hurt by a man like I've been hurt . So much of this video is my mother for decades. Sadly she has also recently been diagnosed with dementia and her narcissistic personality has multipled extremely. Any tips, advise on covert narcissism with dealing with dementia? She doesn't believe the medical professions, doesn't believe many incidents that have happened recently that got the police, fire dept and social services involved. Blames me and everyone else, threatens to sue people, threatens suicide for attention, etc.. but still manages to convince some of her elderly friends there is nothing wrong with her and tells them her false beliefs of her versions of her stories.

Hire a lawyer to protect or get back any assets. Go no contact with both of them. If they want to contact you, they have to do it via your lawyer. Keep records of all emails, letters, texts. Refuse to talk to them in person or on the phone unless you can record it. This way you have everything in writing. Once your assets are protected, have a will drawn up with an attorney and leave them nothing. Realize your relationship with those two is over. You deserve better. The longer you stay in contact with them and try to convince them the more evidence they’re gathering on you. Dump them. Move on with your life. Meet new friends.

My ex-husband of 21 years is a golden of his mother and a convert he has taken all from me. he had me arrested I spent five months in county jail with bail or legal assistance of any kind. The day after I was arrested he had the police tell my friend I had called to care for my animals that he had to leave Mr J's home. He told the police he lived there. He stole all from me moved into the home we co-owned that I had been trying for five years to get him to sell. Then while I was in jail without any legal counsel what so ever he got another court to quick claim my half of the house to him. He sold my truck and had a restraining order on me not allowing me to go home he included my do Ozzy who is my life and the home which is paid in full b is worth $580k. He makes 150k a year has everything I am 64 yrs old, disabled and living on 12j a year. . He has probably $590k in his bank. He stole my truck impounded my jeep and moved into my home he lived in Simi valley alkey for over five years. He has lied and fabricated stories to courts in two counties and the police in those counties.. Staple all his court and police papers together he has changed his story on the same page but no one sees it. He kept me on the property with a car or propane or food for six years. The house is in the rural mountains in Acton I got out of jail with the clothes on my back and nothing else I can't believe this could happen. I have never once spoken to an attorney or had one speak for me through all this. I was treated by the courts as if I was guilty of what he said I had to sit in court and listen to his victim's statement all acting and he's getting away with all of it it's killing me I can't take anymore of this extreme anxiety and stress. I can't find helping this is killing me I'm living here and there I'm a felon on probation I am not a felon I've never heard anybody in my life I did everything right in the relationship he did everything wrong. He is the victim he's the victim he's a pathological liar and he's got all the courts believing it if I try to speak in court they acted like I didn't respect the court but I had nobody to speak for me I completely guilty to get out of jail. This is indictment I had no record I worked my whole life he got the court to quit cleaning the house to him. He drives a $60,000 mustang he's got our trucks our campers he's got everything he's got my dogs. My dogs are my life I had no justice is so unbelievably painful
